RE: Art Questions Thread

In Gimp, there might be another way, but you can duplicate the render layer and then move it.

Yeah if you right click on a layer, one of the options in the menu is Duplicate Layer.

RE: Art Questions Thread

Use the move tool.

Don't forget that when you move a layer, some parts could go outside the canvas (you can tell because the layer boundaries are shown). These parts will still be preserved as long as you do not alter the layer boundaries.

RE: Art Questions Thread

Dont forget the keyboard shortcuts, they speed things up a lot

M - move tool
Ctrl+Shift+D - Duplicate your current layer

RE: Art Questions Thread

Quick (and possibly obvious) question about copyright issues- when something is "free for personal use", does that include using it on a banner and giving it away on a forum such as PokeBeach? Or would that cross the line? Ehh, I'm so apprehensive about this kinda stuff :3 Thanks in advance!

RE: Art Questions Thread

It's always best to confirm with the owner if you want to be safe. The term "personal" use could mean you can personally do as you like, or it could mean you cannot use it in any non-personal environment (meaning it shouldnt be viewable by others).

RE: Art Questions Thread

Yes, Photoshop brushes can be used on Gimp. Also, to view your layers in Gimp, there should be a layer box to the right of the Gimp screen.

RE: Art Questions Thread

Ok thanks a lot. I'm a new Gimp user and I couldn't find it in the features list. This program is much better than PDN xD

RE: Art Questions Thread

Is there a way to view all the layers on Gimp?

Open a layers dialogue

Windows > Dockable Dialogs > Layers

you can have it on the main toolbox if you want:
Configure this tab > Add Tab > Layers

I prefer to keep it a separate window.

RE: Art Questions Thread

@XieRH: Thanks- I'm always unsure with this, especially when I'm using resources from a website like dafont.com. I appreciate the help.

RE: Art Questions Thread

Google search.

I browse deviantart, but finding "cool" art is not easy.

RE: Art Questions Thread

This is my personal opinion but Arkeis Pokemon Factory and Xous' stuff seem to be the best places for "cool" pokemon artwork.

RE: Art Questions Thread

Sorry if this has been asked, but where can you get gen 5 suginori art? What I really need are shinies. I can find the older gens, but not gen v.

RE: Art Questions Thread

Here is a list of the released gen V sugimori art. I am not sure if shinies are included.

RE: Art Questions Thread

Not sure if this should be asked here or the simple questions thread but.....

For the Doodle Contest , I need to PM my entries to the judges. I've got my entry ready, but I can't figure out how to add attachments in PM's. If it's possible, how do you do it? If not, how else can i send my pic?
