bad dreams/ afraid to go to sleep

I would remove all things that resemble what scared you. I also have a very vivid imagination and after I see something scary or hear or anything like that, things in the dark start to move...

Any distractions are going to make the problems worse. When I can't get to sleep I normally sit up in bed and slowly sip some water or something while thinking about what is keeping me awake. Try to get rid of any lights, noises, or objects that may distract you because this will only make it harder to sleep. When ever I am having a really big problem sleeping I count backwards from 100 it keeps you from thinking about anything.

If this becomes a real problem you should see a doctor as insomnia can be a very sever sleeping disorder.

Not to be telling you to have weapons under your bed but it helps some people *cough* my cousin *cough*. Sleep with lights on and just stuff your face into the bed so you can't see. If you wake up from dreams that are bad drink so water and go back to sleep. I don't know how this is happening to me *not about this topic* I wake up and finds like my phone on the floor and like pillows on the floor and my lights on. I lock my bedroom door so I think I'm doing stuff while I sleep. :O also I don't think I have dreams anymore xP or I forget them. Weird huh? ._.

I don't have any dreams anymore either! (Or never remember them, however you want to say it) This is weird. o_O

Sounds like how 15 year olds act nowadays.

If you can prevent yourself from watching scary stuff (Studying the tv guide to know when the scary things are on and which channels to avoid helps A LOT. Same goes for scary horror games.) then you won't have this problem that much.

I don;t think that Azul's Vulcan style logic helps driving the scaryness away. It's something you have to find for yourself to see what works best for you. Though stuff like keeping the light on does do good but you might just want to occupy yourself with something like reading a book, playing your handheld device, listen to music etc..

The WORST thing you can do is accept your fears and start living with them ._.
If you're going to live your life afraid of everything, you're probably not going to accomplish much...

Just try to use logic or something, make sure you know why what you're afraid of is implausible, ridiculous and nothing to be afraid of (do research if necessary), and just try to calm yourself with that. Most of the stuff used in horror movies are everything but plausible treats anyway, how many cases of men being eaten alive by rats have you heard of, like, ever? What are the odds of something happening to you whilst anything barely happens to anyone at night, and like 99.99999% of the people live to see the next day?
It might actually help to sit through a few horror movies just so you get used to them. Those silly Japanese horror movies are just funny now that I've watched a bunch of them :D

But seriously, turning on the lights, sleeping with a flashlight, or keeping yourself awake will do nothing to help the problem, you'll just grow to accept your fears, cultivate them, until they become a part of you. And you don't want to grow up to be the person who's afraid of the dark (at least I don't think you want to be...).

Guy/Girl, same difference...
It was adressed to anyone in this thread who had the same problem anyway. It's been fixed now.

All you Sot* people anyway

I think it was last summer that I remember being like half asleep and I walked into my bathroom and having this weird feeling and then feeling like I was being crushed by a giant slab of stone. Apparently I started shouting "I don't wanna die" and my parents woke up. Talk about scary...I don't ever want to go through that again. I still remember it vividly, but I just can't explain that weird feeling.
