Hi!

I was just wondering if you guys would help me decide on Best Deck in Format.

I was thinking Blastoise (Which I have only played once) Or Plasma? (Or Flipz of course) But seriously. What do you guys think?

Plasma has consistent match ups against almost everything, so I would say Plasma yeah. But who knows how good VirGen will be.

BDIF is probably gonna be plasma, I really wanna say VirGen...but I think that the deck will only be ok in all honesty.

I was thinking Plasma Until My League had a Play Test Session and the Matchup was amazing. I would say they are tied in all honestly, but Blastoise is the Perfect Energy Acceleration. VirGen Will Be big, but I predict It will die down a bit. Virizion's Ability is Insanely Good against Decks Like Plasma and Big Basics (And Darkrai of Course) But I'm not sold on any of the match-ups yet.

I've tested with VirGen, and in all honesty, it's one of those decks that are pretty good, but not fantastic. It has a tough matchup against Darkrai because of all of the 170 HP EXs it runs, so Darkrai can easily take 4 prizes within 3 turns of getting set up. I haven't played much against Plasma or Blastoise, but Plasma can OHKO Genesects while only giving up one Prize, and Blastoise can OHKO things as long as a Blastoise remains in play. Tool Scrapper is a pain to deal with, since you then have to use Shadow Triad, and you want to be playing a draw supporter each turn to ensure consecutive G-Boosters.

Thanks! That was very informative. I haven't tested with VirGen Yet.
Has anyone done any Cradily Testing? I think that deck truly has potential.

Were the Plasma Lists still running lasers? because most people have since switched over to silver bangle to deal with it. Even if virizion didnt get printed, bangle would probably be better than laser

Yeah, There were 3 Plasma Decks over there
1. 2HPL - 2Virbank - 2 Silver Bangle
2. 4 Silver Bangle
3. 2-2 Laser+Bank
-----------------
Decks 1 and 2 Tied for a Better Placing Than Deck 3.
The 2 Decks That came out on top Were tied.
Those 2 Decks were Blastoise and Darkrai.

That is some pretty interesting results considering energy switch is long gone and Darkrai just cant do much without it. My testing shows very different results

The List for Darkrai was pretty Standard, A bit of a Mewtwo kick. I Played Blastoise for the first time so I was pretty happy with what it could do. Other Than The Darkrai Deck Running Frozen City and Plasma Badge it was a regular old speed deck.

How could it be considered speed. It has no energy switch. Unless it ran colress machine its not speeed. Plus i dont know how this darkrai deck that runs frozen city and plasma badge could be called anywhere near standard

lololol Speed Darkrai = Normal Darkrai. If you try to run crazy techs like Mewtwo or Bouff the deck tanks hardcore really fast.

Oh Psh that. Well Then I don't know what it was but that was it. But Darkrai Seems to be Getting its edge

Darkrai is horrendous next format. No Energy Switch means the deck just ceases to function. It's dead for now.

Will still see plenty of Darkrai, just in slightly different looking decks. Yes, losing energy switch hurts (& not just dark - but so many decks, really gonna miss it), also no more hammertime with crushing hammers gone (good riddance). But nothing else new really hurts Darkrai. Blastoise takes a hit with all the grass that will be in play now. And plasma decks have more to deal with now which was needed too.

Have done some testing with Cradilly & it is pretty easy to get that Lilleep out T1. Now just have to see if can consistently get the Cradilly out early enough and with enough energy to get those stage 2's down. When it works it is an absolute beast, but the jury is still out. Being able to choose starter sure helps, as does the new 2 out of 3 tournament format which started playing last week. Like it except I really think a game 3 should be a flip, not loser of 2 starts. Going 1st can just really be such a game decider, escpecially since if going 3 will often hit time limit.

Darkrai actually takes massive hits from several directions. It not only loses Energy Switch, which significantly hurts the deck on it's own, but it may have some serious issues with Virizion/Genesect, considering it doesn't have all the cool math it normally does with Laser. Blastoise isn't going anywhere - Virizion/Genesect doesn't kill the deck at all. I really just can't see it being very good.

On the note about Cradily, it has two major issues. The first is the set up. If you miss T1 Lileep, you pretty much straight up lose right there, and even if you get it and it doesn't get KO'd, you have to get the Cradily going the next turn. Even after ALL of that, you're still 3 turns behind. That leads to the second issue, which is that Stage 2's right now are kinda....meh. The only good ones need an entire deck's worth of space to function properly and would rather set up without Cradily, and the other ones just aren't strong enough to handle the kind of comeback necessary in Cradily. I really cannot see it being truly successful.

Truthfully, I don't think anything will be BDIF. I think Blastoise, Plasma, and Virizion/Genesect will be Tier 1, but none of them are truly overall better than the others.
