Best Play for States!

LostGar will seem terrible since everyone is teching against it so you will probably even encounter some techs people will use that hasnt spread across the web.

( I have a way to KO gengar and gengar prime, one hit + prevent fainting spell and also a way to slow down Gengar Prime and Use my LZ to fight Gengar. )

ITS LUCARIO!!!!
If they get pokemon in my LZ, Ill use the LZ to beat gengar!!!!
If they dont play gengar Prime, only gengars then Ill send my own there AKA Mewperrior

Pretty sure that Luxchomp maintains its position as "the play" also for this year's states. Dialgachomp will see increased play though.

So much for Canada... (cough cough Provincials)

Luxchomp and Gyarados are the only ones played here in Ontario (Seniors)

@Zangoose: While that is true, by being under a constant Power lock, you lose Regirock/Pachirisu/whatever. Your damage would be greatly limited of the Power lock continues.

So what deck were there a lot of at States, and what top 4? I have States next week and I need to know everything from where you guys live.

The top 4 decks in seniors division at New Hampshire states were:
1st: Gyarados
2nd: Luxchomp
3rd: Dialgachomp
4th Luxchomp

I wish I had more info for you on Masters division because that gives you more of an idea on what's doing well, but I do remember:
1st: Dialgachomp (Col Le :O)
2nd Luxchomp
3rd or 4th: Regigigas

Looks like SP is really what's dominating over here. And the question that everyone's wondering. How did Lostgar do? Well in my area it apparently doesn't exist because there were no Lostgar at all in seniors and masters may have had a few, but I don't think any of them topped.

In California States seinors there was a heck of a lot of Gengar variants and the rest of the meta I think it was about a fifty fifty split between the SPs and Gyarados. So I think Mightychamp would be the best option IMO.

Oh okay, thanks people. I hope I win with Gyarados this weekend. I have been running it for over a year now, and won tournies with it. So we will see Saturday.

Gyarados beat luxchomp? That's cool. :F

I honestly think the top play COULD be Machamp. At least in my area. It seems everybody is predicting a billion LostGar decks and playing either DialgaChomp, or Sablelock, and anybody who isn't is playing LuxChomp. Plus, it's win ratio isn't THAT bad vs. Gyarados. Everybody assumes it's an autoloss, but it's really not.

For sure Machamp would not be a bad option, but it does not do to well against the Vilegar match up.

Machamp is good, but somehow Gyarados saw tons of play. I beat my Gyara cuz a noob was playing it and got terrible start, but I lost to Pluff thanks to going first, and vilelostgar.
