I recently paid a visit to Target to check if they had received the "Flashfire" booster packs, which they did, but only to find that each one was priced at $4.99.

My apologies if this price hike was known knowledge and I've just missed the memo, but I'm returning to the game after a long break so I'm not sure if this was a goof on Targets end or in fact Pokemon has raised the prices for their booster packs.

Has anyone else noticed this as well?

Don't buy them in the cardboard packing one at a time. If buying them from Walmart or Target, buy the 3 pack in the blister for I think 9.99. Also, most local card shops sell them 3.15-3.45 a pack. Troll and Toad sells 3.00 a pack. Of course buying a booster box is a good overall value deal if you have the money.

Well, you can't beat $2.50 a pack with free shipping. Here.
Use the code "Free Ship" to get shipping that's "free" (like .30).
:D

Edit: Wow, this sounds like an advertisement haha

Tigre,

I've had great pull rates buying them individually at Target. They sell FlashFire blister packs for 9.99? Local card shops in my area sell booster packs for 3.99 and up, I've never seen a booster pack go for 3.15-3.45 at a card shop. It's probably best to buy a box but every now and then I occasionally buy a pack or two from Target when I'm there and I've noticed the hike in price just wondering if others have encountered this as well..

Well now some of us are luckier than others. Lol.

Yes. There was a three pack blister of Flashfire with a Haxorus foil at the Walmart I went to today, I believe I payed $10. Wally World breaking the street date, got to love it.

And yup, that's how much I can buy packs for at the shop I go to. My guy sells them 3.45 individually and 100 for a box. Tins for 15.

sounds like an advertisement because it is

And by it is, I mean it's an advertisement to a friggin' awesome site I've never heard of before! Is there any word on if they weigh packs or anything fishy like that? May have to throw in an order if they're generally positive. Much like the OP, prices in our area keep on rising. I remember when packs were like... $3.29. Now I pay $4.39.

The site sponsors some people on Youtube too. Appearently, they don't weigh packs.

It's a good thing I don't collect English anymore, prices here are like $8 a pack..

Packs are like 4.19 here in Colorado. I know it's gone up at least once in the last few years though. I can't even find 3 pack blisters here, haven't since Boundaries Crossed.

SO

Packs at our Wal-Mart for Flashfire are only $3.99. XY cost $4.39 still.

I'm highly confused. Though with the quality of the cards pulled from them I may see why... White specks on my first Full Art EX, and ruffled edges straight out of pack...

Here Target and Walmart and Meijer sell Plasma Freeze for 3.99, all other packs are 4.19. I haven't been to any stores since Flash Fire was released since I've had strep throat and a cold since Friday so I don't know how much those are.

But Toys R Us sells all boosters for 4.99, Plasma Freeze, XY and tins are 22.99, lets just say I don't buy pokemon cards from Tys r us.

Yeah, Toys-R-Us was always a rip-off when it comes to Pokemon TCG. I remember one year cards were included in a big deal of theirs. It was still cheaper to buy elsewhere, lol.

I'll need to check our Target the next time we go. Perhaps they also dropped the price there in our area? Shoot, it may even just be that one Wal-Mart. It just struck me as really odd that the price was lower. That's not like that specific store.

Check out point #5. :D

I hope this doesn't affect the prices for packs in Canada.
if $5 didn't already feel like a rip-off compared to the American price, I'd hate to see it rise over here too.

I was able to go to Walmart and they were selling for $3.98, they rung up $4.18 so I had to tell them they were on a peg with a price tag that said $3.98 and they changed it.

Yeah, I noticed the price of $3.98 at Walmart yesterday.
I also helped them find some missing M:TG packs that were stuck in the Software dept.
Obviously Walmart's security cameras don't do anything, since they had one really close to that area...
