I did pre-order this game and I am counting down the seconds in my head. Yes, you can call me a Call of Duty fanboy. I know things were wrong with MW2 that SHOULD have been fixed and weren't. Why? I'm going to take a wild guess it was Infinity Ward who didn't give a shpoozle about their online (other than releasing map packs).
Still, I have to agree with ShadowLugia, simply because there was Commando and NoobTube in the last game doesn't mean this game will be such a disaster. I've read and watched most of the Black Ops stuff out there, and from what Treyarch has said, it seems like they are cracking down on some of the most annoying things like Quickscoping, boosting, hacking, and adding some really fun game-modes along with a whole new economy-based system. Although taking out quick-scoping bums me out a bit, I did find it annoying that if your shot was not a quickscope with a sniper, you were a n00b.
And this game is definitely not going to be perfect, far from it. The lack of secondary weapons is kind of annoying (but it does make more sense with the game's time frame). MW2 had lots of interesting primary weapons (some extremely overpowered though) and a whole lot of choices for your secondary which really allowed you to "define" yourself as a player, but with the whole bunch of customization and decisions in Black Ops, I don't think "defining" yourself is going to be that big of an issue.
And most of all, I like how the killstreaks seem somewhat balanced and that Nukes are gone. I do think that the RC car is going to get annoying as a 3 killstreak. I feel Napalm is also going to get annoying, but I have yet to see a video with it actually being used, so we'll have to wait for that. Everything else in the game seems pretty cool. It'll have its achievements and failures like MW2 did, although hopefully the failures won't suck as much as MW2's did. (COMMANDO TELEPORTATION >:[)
