Thanks for all the help, everyone! I'll try to check the thread as much as I can, but that won't be often. I'm going out of town a lot!

It probably should go in TCG News & Discussion or State of the Game (most likely the former). Also I'm not sure if we need to have a thread like that just yet...

*Moved*

Didn't we already have a thread like this? Let me go look...

Nope, this is the only thread like this that I could find. A lot of people should be helped by this. Thanks!

I can't recall a thread about it, but this certainly helps me when the cards are being discussed. So many abbreviations I sometimes totally forget what card means what.

all the legends (excluding RDL already mentioned):

ERL = Entei & Raikou Legend (fire/lightning type from HS-Unleashed)
RSL = Raikou & Suicune Legend (lightning/water type from HS-Unleashed)
SEL = Suicune & Entei Legend (water/fire type from HS-Unleashed)
KGL = Kyogre & Groudon Legend (water/fighting type from HS-Undaunted)
DCL = Darkrai & Cresselia Legend (dark/psychic type from HS-Triumphant)
PDL = Palkia & Dialga Legend (water/metal type from HS-Triumphant)

current-rotation sets (as of July 1st):

HGSS (aka HS) = HeartGold SoulSilver
UL = HS-Unleashed
UD = HS=Undaunted
TM = HS-Triumphant
CoL = Call of Legends
BW = Black & White
and soon to be....
EP = Emerging Powers

that's all I've got for now

P.S. you should probably leave the FA as just "FA = Full Art" since pretty soon it'll apply to more than just Reshiram and Zekrom. and it seems like people like it enough that it'll become the next "set exclusive" thing (like Primes for HS series, and Lv. X's from Platinum series, etc.)

There was once a thread on this, but it was a removed a looooong time ago.

If you need the official abbreviation, then it's actually CL.

ZPS - Zekrom/Pachirisu/Shaymin (deck)
LBS - Lugia ex/Blastoise ex/Steelix ex (deck)
AMU - Azelf/Mesprit/Uxie
BDIF - Best deck in format
BCIF - Best card in format
POV - Professor Oak's Visit
DRE - Double Rainbow Energy
GG/Plox - Gardevoir SW/Gallade SW
TRT - Team Rocket's Trickery

Just what I can think of off the top of my head atm.

PP - PlusPower
SSU - Super Scoop Up
GG - GG
T1/T2/T3 etc. - Turn 1/Turn 2/Turn 3 etc.
C - Common
U - Uncommon
R - Rare
H - Holo
SR - Secret Rare

UR- Ultra Rare

Just noticed how helpfull this will be once the OP is edited.

We need an abreviation for Prof. Juniper. PJ? :p

LW = Lost World
PokeCom = Pokemon Communication
RC = Rare Candy
4-3-3-1 = means an evolution line has 4 basics, 3 stage 1s, 3 stage 2s, and 1 LV.X
FA = Full art (as in Reshiram, Zekrom, etc.)
Scoop = When a player picks up his/her cards from the playing field, surrendering the game to the opponent
T4/T8/T16 (cut) = Top 4/Top 8/Top 16 cut in a tournament (single elimination, best of 3). Top cuts are always powers of 2.

erm....what? maybe you mean "GG - Good Game"?

and in response to Darkvoid57, the "abbreviation" to professor juniper is just "juniper" lol just like "collector," "reversal," etc.

Probably, although GG can also mean Gardevoir + Gallade, depending on context. However to avoid confusion, Gardevoir + Gallade is usually called Plox (from Psychic Lock).

^But as of tomorrow, there will be no more legal Gallade or Gardevoir cards.

As for more abbreviations, none are coming as of now, but I'll update later when I think of them.

That didn't stop him from bringing up LBS.
In any case the more useful abbreviations will be the ones for the cards that are still legal, yeah, but bringing up older ones is fine too. Like "Rosie's" for Rosanne's Research.

The real GG (the one we all know and hate) is already illegal, so it doesn't matter.

Technically, Tyrogue is called the 'baby killer' because it OHKOs the 'baby Pokemon', so that term is used somewhat.
Dragons is a less-used term...I use it myself, but I don't know of anyone else who does.
Regardless, 'babies' and 'dragons' are both seldom-used terms so I don't think they're quite deserving of recognition yet.
