I hear you, it's tough making 1st offers sometimes, that's the benefit of trading on your own thread when you can, you can require the first offer be wsomeone else's! I usually try to look at a common standard if I can and then maybe adjust based on availability and demand. So, Troll and Toad has Groudon star as a $22 card. Here's what I have left for rare candies:
x5 Emerald reverse holo
x1 Emerald non-holo
x4 Great encounters non-holo
x2 Great encounters reverse holo (1 NM, one with some scratching)
x5 Revived Legends (JPN) non-holo
x1 Revived Legends (JPN) reverse holo
T&T only lists non-holos and they are $5 cards. I value the reverse holos higher, and think rare candies are worth a bit more than the T&T price since they are all out of stock there and in high demand for competitive modified play.
So, based on that, I can trade 2 of the reverse holos along with a non-holo, OR 4 of the non holos for the groudon star. That seems fair to me, but I have another option for the Groudon star (trading a bunch (~1,000!) of commons and uncommons to another trader), so no worries if that's not enough for you.
