ORAS Changes to the Hoenn Region's Design

Number 5 is almost definitely a house. The color doesn't match the surrounding (rocks) and it seems to have an entrance to the left along wih two windows to the right. Cynthia's manor!? XD

If its anything "definitely", its definitely not a house. Pick ANY actual house and compare. That rock is as big as the starting town.

I'd take it off the list actually, because there was simply a rocky wall in the exact same place in RSE, with 2 secret base entrances.

I'm betting its just a rock, but expanded because its either a) housing a legendary/some other significant Pokemon or b) for whatever reason they're now including it as part of the storyline. (or its a total solid rock thats just there so they have a place they can put a whole ton of secret base entrances)

on the design, there's one thing I've seen that looks promising (not sure if its been brought up): http://imgur.com/iRzW6fX
it does look like it could just be a rock or something... but its right in the same place that the Trick House was in R/S/E.
Trick House confirmed?

I would accept that it's a rock if there wasn't something gray between the small pond and what I say it's a house, and that might be the original rock. I checked the original layout and the rock is quite smal so it can fit the gray space.
As for the house being bigger than the starting town, while that is correct and might be akward, Littleroot isn't that big.
BUT, all things said, it's most likely a rock because the lines used to make the ledges still link there like the original and wouldn't do such thing if it were a house.

Hello there, what have we here?

Thank god something new was found. Perhaps there is hope yet that the region wont be a 99% carbon copy upgrade.

Rustboro City. A little above and to the left of Devon Corporation, there's a building with smoke blowing out of chimneys. Is this new?

Perhaps I should also include the full map where this game from. There doesn't seem to be much else of interest on the map aside from the new cave I pointed out earlier, but just for the hell of it, here you go:

Im not sure if this has been pointed out yet, but there appears to be two small town(ish) looking areas on the bottom right corner of the map. I believe they are new? Since IIRC, Pacifidlog, Sootopolis, Evergrande, and Mossdeep were the only islands/towns in the waterways on that side of R/S/E's map. However, Im not familiar with Southern Island or Naval Rocks in game locations, so those could possibly be them.

thanks for the link bolt.

1 - Devon has additional buildings in the back (aesthetics)
2 - ...that was a one big ship o___________O (probably same as it was)
3 - city redesign (aesthetics, maybe New mauwile subplot involvement)
4 - berry farm improved (aesthetic probably)
5 - launchpad accessible rather than just decoration (aesthetic)
6 - an actual new cave, wow
7 - new diving area (also, this is where Mirage island was)
8 - new diving area
9 - obvious cloud hiding something (regigigas plz?)
10 - mysterious weather
it's a thundercloud clashing with a pure white cloud.
This likely has to do with either Thundurus/Tornadus or Zekrom/Reshiram.

green - where sky tower is.

meh.
too damn identical for my taste xD

The question that still remains is: battle tower or battle frontier?
But...
No Emerald plot improvements (obviously)
No Trainer hill
No battle Tents
No Mirage Tower
No Chimney Magma hideout
...
..Since we seriously won't be seeing any Emerald exclusive locations it seems, having the battle frontier would actually be odd at this point. LOL

The ones on Rt. 129/130? Those are too small to be towns. I am curious about those locations, but they could just be random spots for items like we've seen on Rt. 124, 126, and 127. There could be tall grass there though, they might have made that place a new training spot.

North of Slateport, there's definitely something there and I'm sure it's the Trick House returning.

We could tell it was there before, and even if it wasn't, it's not that interesting. In fact, it'd be more surprising if the Trick House didn't return.

A little to the southeast of Southern Island near where the clouds are, it looks like there's a small area of land there.

I would like to thanks GF for changing Rustboro City into Rustboro Town.

Again, better graphics win over realism. A city that had tall buildings now has houses with only the ground floor and more amazingly, the visible part of the S.S. Cactus' wreckage appears to be bigger than any other town or city! Seriously, I imagine that the whole ship could fit all the map, including the ocean, within it!

-A new or significantly altered design for Victory Road. Several of the recent Victory Roads (particularly BW2 and XY) also take the Mt. Coronet approach by structuring it as a long road that weaves through different environments, and this kind of approach certainly feels appropriate for the final gauntlet before reaching the Pokemon League. Since Evergrande Island is a vibrant, flowery island, they can add a new outdoor area of this environment, and maybe throw in a river and waterfall(s) to essentially replace the bottom floor of the original. This would also be interesting for the distribution as they could fill it with stuff like Nuzleaf/Lombre, Roselia, Altaria, Azumarill, Swellow, maybe even Zangoose/Seviper, many of which are only obtainable in a handful of areas.

Well we didn't get an outdoor section from the looks of it, but it seems we got the next best thing:

In fact, I'd say this might be even better since it makes the cave feel more unique and standout (and the final area in the game should definitely be one of the most memorable). Very fitting that they made the interior more flowery.

I'm praying for the return of friend safari that includes pokemon like croconaw, bayleef and quilava with their hidden abilities, as well as others not included in the Kalos safari.

The trailer from last week seems to indicate that the Safari Zone is the same as it was in the originals, but maybe the post game section could be a Friend Safari. And yes, they really need to make some of the starters' HAs more available, not just the 2nd gen, but 3rd and 4th as well (5th will probably be saved for XY2).

There could possibly be something hiding behind the rain clouds on Route 119... o.0

Ever since I've seen gen1 and 6 starters in XYs friend safari... THIS is why I haven't bred any competitive of the other 4 yet. I need them in fitting pokeballs with HAs first 8D

considering it frequently rains in that route in the originals (I can't remember if its perma rain) I wouldn't be at all surprised if they were just there for the same reason and its just frequently raining there.
