Yeah, well, it is, so whatever.

And yes, it has a 100% chance of dropping Defense. That's why it has 85 accuracy and 5 PP.

Galeon@Choice Specs
Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 SpAtk, 216 Speed, 42 HP
- Slicing Gale
- Ice Beam
- Earth Power
- Thunderbolt

Flying-type Eeveelution go! This is your basic 1v1 sweeper set. Flying and Ice offers decent coverage; Earth Power nukes the Steel-types that resist Slicing Gale and Ice Beam. Thunderbolt hits Empoleon a little harder, though. The given EVs put the Speed at 407, blazing past every base 130 as well as Adamant Choice Scarf Heracross and other Scarfers that attempt to hit 404 or a couple points higher. Tying Electrode is not recommended as it's only a 50/50 shot and with such low HP, chances are you won't want to risk losing the speed tie and getting OHKOed by Thunderbolt.

You may realize that Drive Off is entirely useless in 1v1 play. I created Galeon with doubles in mind. Slicing Gale is a very powerful attack - in order to be effective in doubles, it has to be powerful in order to make up for the 25% drop in power on moves that hit both opponents. To balance it, I gave it 5 PP and no effects. Galeon is incredibly fast, nullifies weather, and gets Fake Out, Tailwind, Soothing Air, and Helping Hand in addition to Drive Off, which is useful when combined with Magnezone, for example, who resists every type Galeon is weak to.

You'll also notice that Galeon can't learn Roost. Instead of the "Flying - Flying = no type" cop out, I'll offer my own explanation:

1. Have fun tanking hits with 75/60/60.
2. Galeon doesn't fly in battle - it does evolve from Eevee, after all. It can fly, but it remains on all fours unless utilizing a flying attack. Since it doesn't fly, it can't land, rendering Roost worthless. Yes it has wings and I know Dunsparce can learn Roost and he's known for BURROWING IN THE GROUND, but I think that Dunsparce + Roost is a dumb idea and never should have been.
3. He gets Wish anyway and is plenty strong enough to attack with Slicing Gale and Ice Beam/Earth Power.

While I'm on the subject of Slicing Gale, it was tough to make. Slicing Gale makes Aeroblast look like a joke - it's stronger and has perfect accuracy. However, the next best thing (specially) is Air Slash... gross. Sky Attack is laughable and Brave Bird makes no sense because Galeon is not a bird. Also, Slicing Gale is not an exclusive move - other Pokemon can learn it, too. Just not Lugia. Why not? Because I said so, muahahaha. Besides, no one uses Aeroblast anyway.

I added Galeon's weight for Grass Knot/Low Kick. You all should, too. ^_^

And finally, I created Soothing Air to further his use in doubles, and there's no reason for him to learn Healing Bell or Aromatherapy.

Rate/hate.

You know, if your Conversion yourself to FLying and use Roost (smeargle, obviously), you turn into a typeless Pokemon with no resists or weaknesses.

Also, I still don't like how you've deviated from the standard 130/110/95/65/65/60. It's what makes it a cycle... meh. Can't do much about that.

Watch this space for another Bug/Water....

Wasn't the point of the original CAP that the stats etc are decided by a democratic vote, and not just made up on the spot? That's what I was expecting when I saw the thread...

That is true, but we don't have a server with which to test our creations like Smogon does, nor do we (generally, as a whole community) really have the interest in these things - this topic was nearly dead before I revived it, because I like it. If there was massive interest and we had spriters and programmers like Smogon, we might have our own server. Since we don't, this is just a neat thread to toss around ideas. If any of these were ever seriously considered for actual creation, I have no doubt they would go through a much more rigorous creation method, and more than one guy's brain would have the final say on its stats, moves, etc.

@ Houndoom - I suppose you're right, but Smeargle is a special case. About the stats, I realize there are... 720? different combinations (if that's wrong, whatever - there's still a lot), but it's boring just to see the same stats recycled. I don't like how they do that with legendary pairs or other Pokemon that go together.

Okay, now for a marginally good Gyarados counter.

Type: Bug/Water
Visual concept: Shelled bug, similiar to a trilobite, but a modern version. Somewhat long claw/pincer things.
Name: TBA
Abilities: Shell Armour/Rain Dish

Base stats: 80/65/130/100/90/65

Moves for use: Surf, Hydro Pump, Bug Buzz, Knock Off, Recover, Stealth Rock, Ice Beam, Energy Ball, Explosion, Aqua Jet, Haze, Superpower, Toxic, Protect

Movesets:

[name] @ Leftovers
252 HP, 192 Def, 64 SpA
Bold, Shell Armour
Surf
Ice Beam/HP Electric
Knock Off/Stealth Rock
Recover

With an impressive lists of resists in Fighting, Ground, Ice, Steel and Water, [name] can take many physical hits and live through them. Surf gives reliable STAB, with Ice Beam for coverage. Knock Off and Stealth Rock are decent support options, with Recover makes it last a long time. Bug Buzz or HP Electric can be used as extra STAB or alternative coverage. If using Rain support it can use Rain Dish for higher recovery.

@ Specs/Scarf
Modest
252 SpA, 252 HP, 4 Def
Modest, Shell Armour
Hydro Pump/Surf
Bug Buzz
Ice Beam/HP Electric
Energy Ball/Aqua Jet
With 100 SpA and a Water type's movepool, [name] has a chance to make a bigger dent on it's opponents. Hydro Pump for a stronger hit, Surf for accuracy. Bug Buzz is a secondary STAB that makes a big dent on defensive Psychics. Ice Beam or HP Electric for coverage, and Energy Ball for secondary coverage, or Aqua Jet for a light priority for finishing weakened opponents. Scarf can be supplemented.

Counters:
Heavy Electric moves from a decent bulky Water (preferably) can be used to take down [name] quickly. Any STAB Electrics can be used, however, getting in might be a problem...

Bleh. I can't think of counters. Anyone have any ideas?

(read as: anything I made)

@ Houndoom: Blissey

It's a wall; it's not supposed to be taking out Blissey. It does irritate it with Knock Off and status. To counter a wall I'm pretty sure you're supposed to blast it out in a few shots.

Alright, a great Sandstorm abuser. Or at least rather useful.

Typing: Rock/Ghost
Abilities: Levitate
Stats: 55/117/114/79/74/86

Name: Who knows :/
Visual concept: Uh... floating pebbles?

Competitively Viable Moves: Stone Edge, Shadow Claw, WoW, Bulk Up, Rock Polish, Gravity, Shadow Sneak, Stealth Rock, Explosion, Sucker Punch, Hammer Arm, Superpower, Earthquake, Iron Head

Movesets:
@ Choice Band
Nature: Adamant/Jolly
EVs: 252 Att, 252 Spe, 4 HP
Stone Edge
Shadow Claw/Shadow Sneak
Earthquake/Hammer Arm
Sucker Punch/Explosion
Standard Choice Band set. Stone Edge and Shadow Claw as STAB, with Shadow Sneak usable as priority. Earthquake compliments Stone Edge, but Hammer Arm goes better with Shadow Claw with near-perfect coverage. Sucker Punch can be used as stronger priority if Shadow Sneak wasn't chosen, but Explosion is always a useful move in Choice Band.

Rock Polish:
@ Life Orb/Leftovers
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 Spe, 252 Attack, 4 HP
Rock Polish
Stone Edge/Rock Slide
Shadow Claw
Earthquake

For a faster cleanup set, Rock Polish can be used. Coincidentally, [name] with 252 Speed EVs and a neutral nature after a Rock Polish can outspeed ScarfZelf by exactly one point. Rock Slide can be used for the flinch rate. Hammer Arm and Superpower can't be relied on anymore, as they drop stats that aren't favorable, so Earthquake is used, which goes great with STAB Rock.

Support set:
@Leftovers
Nature: Impish
EVs: 252 HP, 152 Def, 104 SpD
Stealth Rock
WoW
Shadow Sneak/Rock Slide
Hammer Arm/Explosion/Earthquake
Supporting [name], with Sandstorm, stands as a viable supporter. The SpD hits a solid 315, while the rest is dumped into Defense. Impish, as the SpD should be boosted in sand. Shadow Sneak can be used with Hammer Arm, and Rock Slide with Earthquake. Explosion can be used with either.

Bulk Up
@Leftovers/Life Orb
252 Att, 252 Spe, 4 HP
Bulk Up
Stone Edge/Rock Slide
Earthquake/Hammer Arm
Shadow Claw/Shadow Sneak

A Bulk Up set is usable on [name], with decent SpD in Sandstorm, along with a good attack and decent speed. Earthquake is to be used with max speed, or max HP with Hammer Arm, which also goes well with Shadow Sneak.

Counters:
Scizor, hits with a OHKO in Bullet Punch on the sweeping sets; beware of WoW from defensive sets, who only take around 70%.
Metagross takes most of the hits and KO's with Meteor Mash, but is even more suspectible to WoW considering it's slower.
MOre later, but probably stuff like Gengar, Suicune, etc.

Specs:
252 Att, 252 Spe, 4 HP
Nature: Timid/Modest
Ability: Compoundeyes
Thunder
Bug Buzz
HP Ice/Ground
Shadow Ball

With CompoundEyes as its ability, [name] can utilise Thunder to a very effective 91% accuracy. Bug Buzz hits decent as secondary STAB, hitting some Grasses that Thunder doesn't. HP Ice can be used to hit Gliscor or Dragons (usually Groundbound), or HP Ground for Heatran, Steelix, or Magnezone. Shadow Ball hits Rotom, who floats past most of the rest of the moves.

Tail Glow:
@ Life Orb/Leftovers
Standard sweeper EVs, natures
Compoundeyes

Thunder
Bug Buzz
HP Ice/Ground/Shadow Ball

Same idea, but boosting stats instead. With less coverage options it's down to whacking Gliscor/Dragons, Magnezone and Heatran, or Rotom.

Looks like Revenankh+Stratagem in one o_o (two of the original CAP creations). Stratagem's appearance and ability, and Revenankh's movepool, with a few of Stratagen's thrown in. And one type from each, too. Scary concept, as they're both very good Pokémon (Bulk Up Revenankh ended up practically uber). And 70% + Burn is still a 2HKO, as long as you don't switch into it.

I've heard of Revenankh, but not the other one. I really only heard of it after I spit out my ideas on Shoddy.

And yeah, WoW is supposed to be on the switch. He can't really do much to Scizor otherwise.

This idea seems pretty cool, so I'm going to steal it from Houndoom.

  Accuracy: 100
        PP: 40
  Priority: 1

Exude Heat

    Type 2: Special
Base Power: 60
  Accuracy: 100
        PP: 10
  Priority: 0*
   Contact: No
   Targets: Selected target
Effects: If the foe switches the targeted Pokemon out on the turn this
attack is used, the Pokemon that is brought in takes 2x damage
and will also be burned (100% chance). Either way, this attack
may summon strong sunlight for 2 turns (10% chance).

        * - If the foe switches, the Exude Heat usage message will appear
            before the switch:

            "ARCEUS, come back!"
            "FLALA used Exude Heat!"
            "Go! PARASECT!"

The Pokemon that switches in immediately gets hit, even before
            Stealth Rock:

"PARASECT was damaged by the harsh heat!" (lol megaowned)
"The harsh heat intensified the sun's rays!"

Obviously you can see the need for an asterisk here. You can't
really classify it... If the foe doesn't run, it has 0 priority.

Technician Abuse

Flala @ Leftovers / Life Orb
Timid, 252 SpAtk/Speed
- Nasty Plot / Charge Beam
- First Burst / Exude Heat
- On the Sly / Swift
- Hidden Power Grass 60

Not many surprises here. Power up using the move of your choice and then sweep. Should you prefer going the priority route, you can forgo a lot of the Speed investment and throw it into HP. Exude Heat makes switching out of Flala a very scary idea - anything that comes in will take huge damage and get burned to boot. If they stay in, Technician powers it up anyway, providing a very efficient STAB attack. HP Grass is mainly for Swampert, Gastrodon, or really, any Rock-type or bulky Waters that will take these attacks like a man - however, most will steer clear for fear of being burned by Exude Heat on the switch.

Now, a couple final notes on Exude Heat - as you can see, it's quite the unique move. It works like Pursuit, in a sense. Before you go shrieking about how ridiculously strong it is, know this - it has a base power of 180 on a switching Pokemon, which is the same as Fire Blast. Granted, Exude Heat has twice the PP and perfect accuracy, but that's fine, since the opponent is not always going to be switching out. If they stay in, it only has 135 base power, which makes it no different than any other STAB Technician move with 60 base power. I do realize that automatically burning anything that comes in to take the hit is a very powerful effect, so I've made it a unique attack - only Flala gets it. While we're talking about uniqueness, how about that other effect, eh? Ten percent chance of starting up the sun. No attack can start weather as an added effect! ^o^

I rather like it.

Time to make some sort of random mixed sweeper...

Name: Wumbra
Typing: Dark/Ground
Abilities: Sand Veil, Rough Skin
Stats: 91/107/68/116/60/113
Visual concept: No idea. Possibly a rather large wurm.

Movepool: Swords Dance, Earth Power, Dark Pulse, Night Slash, Pursuit, Earthquake, Taunt, Dragon Pulse, U-turn, Aura Sphere, Fire Blast, Shadow Ball, Seed Bomb, Stone Edge, Stealth Rock, Zen Headbutt

Swords Dancer:
Wumbra @ Life Orb
Naive: 252 Att, 252 Spe, 4 HP
Swords Dance
Earthquake
Night Slash/Pursuit
Fire Blast

Standard set. Set up Swords Dance and fire away. Fire Blast hits the Bugs and Grasses that neutralize the Earthquake, and Skarmory who doesn't take much from Night Slash. With a neutral SpA Fire Blast OHKOs Skarmory and Breloom, and leaves Heracross at a crippling 12% at the least.

Wumbra @ Specs
Modest/Timid: 252 SpA/252 Spe/4 HP
Earth Power
Dark Pulse
Fire Blast
Dragon Pulse

Simple enough. The first three moves provide high enough coverage already, so the last move is up for other type-supporting options, being Aura Sphere or HP [whatever].

MixDancer
Wumbra @ Life Orb
Naive/Hasty: 232 Spe, 252 SpA, 24 Att
Swords Dance
Earthquake
Dark Pulse
Stone Edge

Full Mix sweeper
Wumbra @ Life Orb
Naive/Hasty: 232 Spe, 208 Att, 68 SpA
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Dark Pulse
Fire Blast
In the same vein as Mixnape, the full mix sweeper breaks walls fairly efficiently, and with high speed and good coverage it goes through many walls. 208 Att is to 2HKO Blissey with Earthquake, while most bulky Dark-weaks are still eaten by Dark Pulse despite the low investment. Fire Blast knocks off most Ground-neutral steels, and Stone Edge hits Fliers well.

Suicide lead
Wumbra @ Focus Sash
Rough Skin
Jolly: 252 Spe, 252 Att, 4 HP
Taunt
Stealth Rock
U-turn
Earthquake

Similiar to the previous suicide leads, Wumbra uses his high speed with Stealth Rock and Taunt to sacrifice himself to put up rocks no matter what happens.
