Cynthia’s Garchomp ex Special Illustration Rare Revealed from “Heat Wave Arena!”

people complaining about this card's artwork but then celebrate miki tanaka's garbage for 25 years... sigh
I think miki tanakas style is extremely cute and memorable, it has a storybook feel!

this art is completely fine, and very skillful, but it doesn't stick with me. granted, I don't like garchomp so that may be biased but there's only so many "garchomp looking cool in a striking pose in a common artstyle" i can take before they all start blurring in my mind. though i think for garchomp fans this card is pretty fun so that's an ultimate win, the goal wasn't to cater to people like me

People woke up wanting to hate. This card is S-tier Pokemon. Popular trainer, popular mon, art that shows them together in-world, no crystals or hats. I’ll take 20!
For real tho. This is exactly how I would want to see an alternate art look...In a battle scene or in nature with other pokemon in the picture. I'm not a fan of Garchomp but i do have to admit they did a fantastic job with this art! I still think the Charizard alt from Brilliant Stars and its battle scene with Venusaur is just miles better than the Scarlet and Violet era alts. Not sure why its not as popular as some of these other alts that are $400 plus

I will be very upset to say the least if Ethan's Pichu doesn't get at least an Art Rare. Like it has to happen, Right?

Okay, and? What did you expect? Cynthia hanging out at the beach with Garchomp?
unironically, that would actually make the card more appealling to the general collector base. Fans really love pokemon in casual/thematic settings because it's not something we see that often.

Its barely better than a pasting a still frame from the anime onto a card. It does nothing artistically that hasn't been seen before. Again its just a trainer standing nearby to a pokemon.
and people like me can't like that? stop hating man the anime style is awesome in its own respect

Except for the fact that they are battling in a cool looking stadium and Cynthia is both in the background and up on the Mega-screen? This is the definition of a full art bad@ss card!
