Dead decks?

Tornadus 2hkos it, you 2hko Tornadus... It isn't that bad.

It's a basic, you're a stage 2.
And then there's the problem of Mewtwo EX, and the fact that you are probably going to lose 2 prizes first before you start swinging.

You're supposed to deny KOs from Tornadus by switching between Chandelures and using Blissey if necessary. That's how it had a good matchup against ZPST in the last format.

It's also very good against Mewtwo-EX. You do 100 with the attack, so it hardly takes any time to set up a KO on the thing, even if they retreat it. The deck is good against Mewtwo, not bad against it.

Maybe you've just been playing against bad Chandelures?

It isn't that easy to charge up 3 energy and survive, given that you probably have 2 Chandy on the field, which means they each take damage every other turn.

Are these decks dead after ND? I'd like to know if they're things I'd encounter at states, or if they are possible options for states.
-Chandelure (Vile and no vile)
-Eelzone
-Magneboar
-6 Corners
-Durant

On a side note, has MTC liven up to the hype? Is it really that good?

Chandelure: After Next Destinies, Chandelure is going to be dead. With Mewtwo EX going to be played so much, Chandelure's ability can't knock it out. Also, with a DCE, Mewtwo EX can kill the Oddishes before you set up, which could give you large problems early game.

Eelzone: After Next Destinies, Eelzone is still going to be Tier 1. It has gained 2 new allies in Zekrom EX and Mewtwo EX. Make sure that when you play Mewtwo EX that you set it down at the right time or else you will be giving your opponent Catcher Bait.

Magneboar: This is an interesting deck to bring up. After Next Destinies, I predict that Magneboar varients that run RDL are going to be slightly better. The reason for this is because when RDL kills an EX, you get to draw 3 prize cards. That alone is half way to winning the game, not to mention that Magnezone can K.O. everything else with no problem.

6 Corners: I predict that 6 Corners is also going to be Tier 1 or 1.5. The reason for this is because any of the EXs can fit easily in it. Plus, 6 Corners has gotten faster than ever with Prism Energy, which it was abuse with no problem. This deck has everything in it to beat everything that is going to be popular. Victini (V-Blast) kills Durant, Terrakion kills Magnezone, ZPST, and Zekky/Eels, Kyurem/ Kyurem EX kill TyRam, and Cobalion can beat Mewtwo (which was the reason it was played in the original list). You can also use Shaymin-EX as a nice lategame sweeper in combination with Shaymin UL.

Durant: Durant is also going to be amazing in a post-Next Destinies format. It can discard Magnezones and Elektriks easily before they set up and it has a resistance to Mewtwo EX, which otherwise would give it a big problem.

I also should mention that MTC hasn't lived up to the hype. The reason I say this is because we don't know how good or how bad it actually is, nor will know until the first weekend of states is over.

All just my opinion but

Decks in hibernation:
Chandy (sorta, a lot of people are still trying. Some are actually doing pretty well)
Six Corners (as we knew it. It's sorta morphed into big basic toolboxes but with energy acceleration now.)

Decks that are dead, or clinging to life:
google variants (a lot of attempts at making this work, but at the end of the day there is a lot more capable of OHKO's now and that hurts it greatly.)
Gothitelle/anything
Donphan/Machamp (not that it ever really succeeded)
Yanmega/Magnezone
Yanmega/Kingdra (ahhh, nats 2011)
Magneboar (has always been too clunky and slow. Adding more powerful basics to the format doesn't help that)
Reshiboar
ZPST
CaKE (MAH BABY!!!)
LaKE (currytrode NOOO!!! yeah, this one is gone too. While it may seem like these decks gain an edge with prism, lost remover has become a lot more popular and Electrode tool boxes really struggle in it's presence. Don't get me wrong, they're still strong decks, but not safe plays.)

That's all I can think of right now. I might add more later.

^That list looks pretty good. Two things I disagree with:

1) google is definitely weakening, but I think it's still a viable deck. There's certainly a lot capable of OHKOing the Cobalion/Kyurem/Terrakion attacking trio that was used last format. But very little can OHKO these new EX cards. Basically, if you're attacking with Kyurem-EX, Terrakion, Regigigas-EX, Mewtwo-EX, Cobalion, etc you can still deny KOs pretty well. The only things that are going to kill an EX without weakness are Magnezone and Mewtwo. Magnezone was always an issue and Mewtwo takes forever to charge (usually you take 3-5 prizes before they charge it). When they finally get it, you can just KO it with a Mewtwo of your own, hopefully finishing the game there. It's not as great as it used to be, but I definitely think it's still a good play.

2) I don't think CaKE will be completely destroyed by Lost Remover. The deck isn't as good as it used to be, but I think it's definitely still on the radar. I'd still call it a safe play, even if it's not a perfect play.
