Blastoise all the way. With Feraligatr Prime HGSS (and Floatzel UL) still in the format along with Blastoise UL, the deck still works well. Blastosie snipes for 100 to any one of your opponent's Pokemon, and has a durable 130 HP. I'm going to run this deck come rotation, and I think it'll survive. Of course, other options are Donchamp, Steelix, or Tyrannitar, but Blastoise is what I perfer.

Ooh, I find some of those very appealing. I'm not a fan of DonChamp becuase it's not very reliable usually, but all excellant ideas! :)

You find donchamp unreliable? I feel like its way more consistent than blastgatr or tyrannitar.

RE: Deck Brainstorms.... What to play.... Any new deck ideas?

I think blastgatr will beat donchamp but i believe that donchamp is the better play

RE: Deck Brainstorms.... What to play.... Any new deck ideas?

Blastgatr comes back to beat Donchamp after first or second prize, and 3-4 Twins isn't out of place in a deck like that. OHKOing Blastoise with Champ is a hard thing to do because all those damage guys on your bench are getting sniped - assuming you get past a Machoke at all. I will still continue to say Blastgatr is the most underrated deck out there, and fire the most overrated, simply because we still have a very solid search-based trainer engine in this game. Getting set up is not going to be as brutal as people say, with Spiritomb gone - goldfish more games!

RE: Deck Brainstorms.... What to play.... Any new deck ideas?

I will say that I will be playing a Blastgatr varient, but there are plenty of contenders and a good mix of decks for a healthy format (zekrom, reshiboar, magneboar, T-tar, Cinccino. Jumpluff and Mew varients are also good contenders)

I think Victini (From The Red Collection starter deck) will be beast once it's out. It will be easy to set up, since you only need a collector and some Dual Balls, and then you attach a fire energy to it, and with the collector and dual balls you want to make sure you get out Shaymin UL and Pachirisu CL, and doing this, you could donk very quickly. I think this is going to be the next bdif.

Donking? Not going to happen. If they start with 2 Pokemon, you can't donk unless you have a perfect hand, and a seeker.

RE: Deck Brainstorms.... What to play.... Any new deck ideas?

Why are people compelety against donking. He has a point some people probably thought Uxie couldnt donk until someone made the deck. Will it happen most of the time probably not but it can happen. And the term donk doesn't mean only winning in the first turn is Also means winning in the first couple of turns.

RE: Deck Brainstorms.... What to play.... Any new deck ideas?

and people said that Zekrom could not donk

What Glaceon means to say that, if your opponent starts off with 2 or more Pokemon on the field, you won't be able to donk him/her. Donking is difficult HGSS-on, and impossible if your opponent has 3 Pokemon on the field.

Scenario: Opponent has 2 Pokemon on the field.
Requirements for donking: Seeker & a bunch of PlusPowers or w/e to KO active Pokemon. Easier said than done.

Scenario: Opponent has 3 Pokemon on the field.
Requirements for donking: Being able to Seeker one of their Pokemon, KOing their other benched Pokemon without using any attacks, & KOing the active. This is impossible HGSS-on, because we have no Pokemon that can put counters on benched Pokemon T1 as an Ability/Power.

And I'm pretty sure "Donk" = T1 Win.

---

Donchamp is extremely consistent. VS a Blastgatr deck, Donchamp will take the lead, and continue to take the lead because he/she'll just bring out Machamp Prime and KO your Blastoise with one hit.

Scenario: You have 5 Benched Pokemon, and your active Donphan Prime has just used Earthquake. Switch out for Machamp Prime and you'll be swinging for 60 T2~3 or 140~150 T3~T4.

Blastgatr is clunky, so it is less consistent against Donchamp.

---

Victini could be a possible donk deck, with Shaymin & Pachirisu... It's more fragile than Zekrom though, and V-Generate isn't exactly reliable either. If you don't have 5 Pokemon benched, then you can't do anything! Sounds easy, but you never know. You'd need to run at least these: 4 Collector & 4 Dual Ball. When everything's set up, those Collectors & Dual Balls will be dead draws, and because they saturate your deck so heavily, it might be the only cards you ever draw.

---

Magnezone/Emboar will indeed be too slow. Any deck that runs 2 Stage 2s in a HGSS-on format will lose to the more consistent, more quicktanking Stage1s & the hardhitting Legendary/Basics decks.

On that note, why not just run Magnegatr... o_O You'll be able to counter against Donphan Prime with either Golduck TM or Lanturn Prime.

---

Yanmega Prime disruption will be great. You'd need to run 4 Copycats & 4 Judge to consistently have the same hand size as your opponent though...

---

Bearic > Krookodile when Bearic comes out. {W}{C}{C}: The Defending Pokemon cannot use any of its attacks next turn.
Krookodile only stops 1 of the Defending Pokemon's attacks; Bearic is a Stage 1, has beastly HP for a Stage 1 (130 HP!?) and stops all of the Defending Pokemon's attacks.

RE: Deck Brainstorms.... What to play.... Any new deck ideas?

Magneboar, Magnegatr, or Magnezone with Pachirisu CoL will work. Personally i think Magnerisu will do the best out of all of them.

RE: Deck Brainstorms.... What to play.... Any new deck ideas?

As soon as the new format arrives, I'm making a Leafrade deck (Leafeon UD and Roserade UL). Right now, SP kills it since your main attack relies on poke-powers but I feel that next format it could be a fun, semi-competative deck, since it mostly uses stage 1's and has low attack costs. But I feel that cards such as Magnezone, Reshiram, Donphan, Machamp, Cinccino, etc, will see the most play as attackers.
I really can't wait for the next format, there's going to be so many decks that can be competative xD.
