Decks after the new format

@ thefleeee: Aside from what's already been corrected, Luxray GL Lv.X won't be used too often. We have Pokemon Catcher to do Bright Look for us. I'd rather not take up at least 2 spaces in my deck (With something to get Luxray GL Lv.X to the bench or switch something to Luxray GL Lv.X; if you are seriously going to attempt to attack with it next format, I will have to kick you) to do what a single card can do.

I can definitely see Blaziken FB Lv.X being used with Mew Prime (It's going to be one-shotted anyway, a 40 damage increase won't matter), but it'll be inferior to LostGar in that case.

@catutie: Because if we carry over the new rules, you won't be able to use Rare Candy to evolve a Pokemon just played that turn. YOu would need both a Candy and a BTS. Plus BTS can be played under Trainer lock. It's a huge deal.

why would you need both?....thus blazekin x. i guess there will be alot more trainer lock now with the new goth girl poke, vileplume, and spiritomb...that may be a problem but at least vilegar will be gone (like 60% of our meta was that...the other part was luxchomp and gyrados...should be interesting next cities)

edit: actually...we will have poke catcher...there will be no need for any SP

That build is a monster. Looks like set ups are going to slow down quite a bit after the rotation. What are you all thinking of using to compensate for the loss of BTS?
Spiritomb is probably going to end up being the replacement of choice, because it doubles as a great way to setup. That's probably what I'll end up using, but there's no telling if the BW sets will have something way more interesting.

if most decks open w/ spiritomb it's going to be pretty interesting... set ups are going to be pretty even from the sound of it

Have been thinking about what decks to run after rotation

I Currently have 2 decks that are worth playing

Vilegar
and Luxray (3 AR luxray 1 LA Luxray)

So most of the cards in these decks are gone (all the important ones)

I have a blastgatr deck that I haven't used in awhile so I might keep that for after rotation to see how it goes, but have been thinking about two main decks to run

1. Lostgar (I hate the idea of how you win with this deck but gengar is my fav pokemon)

2.DonKing (Donphan Prime + Kingdra Prime )
I am liking the 2nd option more, and have already set out a decklist assuming the format is RR on like alot of people have been saying! I am pretty new to the game and since I have started playing again it's ALWAYS been MD On.

Only thing I hate is that I finally have almost completed my first SP deck as I have always wanted to run one to see what the fuss is all about. And I am only going to get to run it for a shortwhile :(

*edit*
as for no BTS - dosen't bother me at all. Have never owned a BTS in my life so have never counted on it in any of my decks

In 5 months time, that will be death of Uxie, Azelf and Mespirit (although no one ever runs that one ha ha) :(

^good...then i dont have to buy any of them and i can say yes...i never owned one lol. ive been trying to make a good HGSS on engine and its not working lol. the only draw power really is PONT. cheerleaders cheer works too..kind of.

My friend say's that donphan will be dominate. I think the format will be at a much more mellow pace. There are already a couple of deck idea's i have in mind.

I'm looking @ these for top decks for next year(RR-on rotation)
Blazeray-not joking.
LuxChomp-not joking.
Both of those SP variants are still faster than most of the other stuff after them even w/out their engine, just not as consistent.
MisGar(vilegar except w/ Mismagius)
Magnezone
Reshiram w/Enboar
Enboar
Donphan
Oshawott/Enboar
Jumpluff
CurseGar
LostGar
Arceus(forgot that guy :p

hmmm. that's not a bad prediction list. But next format a lot of rouges i think will shine. Also that new damage swap pokemon from black and white is gonna be a meta changer

I run Arceus now and I will run it in an RR-on format; in which it loses very little.

Jirachi RR maybe a new starter of choice. Use a supporter twice and when it is Ko'ed by damage, you can search for a card (like Twins)

idk sp is gonna kid of suck after rotation. if it even is RR-on (yes...i believe HGSS-on) why donphan? i would think LostGar or like...uh...idk lol

All of the major decks are gonna fall. finally rogue will shine. if it's RR-on then SP is dead.

Also, how does Oshawott and Emboar work?

I'm guessing that you use Oshawott's 2nd stage card in order to tank and deal high damage. Samurott has 140hp and Donphan Prime's body as an ability, so it can stay alive for a while. Its attack requires 3 Colourless energy so the idea would probably be to use Emboar's ability in order to get quick energy onto Samurott (although it would probably be better to run DCE as it's likely that an Emboar/Samurott setup would take longer then the two-three turns to set up a Samurott with 2 energy instead, or even Feraligatr Prime and water energy as that will add to Samurott's attack damage).

Personally I think that tank decks will increase in popularity next format. Right now there are some good potential tanks (ones on the top of my head from HGSS on are Torterra, Steelix, Tyranitar, Nidoking and Aggron ) which unfortunately are a little too slow to keep up with SP. Once they are gone, I feel that these decks, with the right techs, will rise in popularity.

So many decks will fall it isn't even funny. ALL SP.

Also, I saw Emboar's power and it seems awesome. No more Power Spray so it's going to be awesome.

^ But with Catcher, Switch and/or Warp Point will need to become a staple to compensate for Emboar's 4 Retreat.
