Strategy:

Situation 1: Eevee and Squirtle are out first. The Eevee-lutions and Squirtle set are time-stallers. While they are in play, I can potentially build up energy on at least one EX Pokemon and max it out. Then I retreat and put the EX Pokemon in play, dealing massive damage. The other EX Pokemon are there in case something goes wrong (for example, Sharpedo EX loses an Energy card after using Jagged Fang, and I may have already used my backup Energy, in which case I would need to retreat).
Situation 2: EX Pokemon are out first. The use of Trainer cards such as Energy Search and Professor's Letter allow me to snag the energy I need, and would already have it to attach on my next turn(s).

Revive comes in handy here; I have more Trainers and Energy than Pokemon, and will likely have a hard time drawing all my Pokemon when I need them. I can use Revive to bring one of my EX Pokemon out of the Discard Pile (should such a situation arise).

Weakness Policy and Sparkling Robe reduce the chances of my Pokemon being Knocked Out by preventing Special Conditions and removing Weakness.

Basically, I tried to build a power deck to annihilate my opponent, which compliments my level of competitiveness.

One thing I feel I need to work on is the fact that nearly every Pokemon in this deck is of a different Energy type, which can lead to some issues.

That's definitely a thing you will want to fix. Another thing you should consider is streamlining the deck so that you maybe only two or three different Pokemon (maybe Keldeo EX / Black Kyurem EX / Blastoise) but play multiple copies of each so that you leave little to chance in terms of finding the Pokemon that you want. I also think you should cut back on Energy like a lot in exchange for cards that will let you draw more cards. Even just cutting 4 Energy for 4 Professor Juniper will make a world of difference.

I like your thoughts here. My main problem is, I have no Professor Juniper and only 1 each of Black Kyurem and the other Pokemon I listed. But on the other hand, maybe I could base the deck just off of Black Kyurem, which would include the Squirtle set AND Ampharos EX, which would mean just finding strong Water and Electric Pokemon to complement them. I'm beginning to think the Oshawott set wouldn't be too bad, as Samurott is pretty strong, and I can cut everything else out, replacing with more Trainers that pull from both the deck and the discard pile.

What do you think of this idea?

Well I suppose that depends on how competitive you want your deck list to be. Do you intend to actually play competitively? Or is this more of a playing with friends type of thing? If you want to play at the tournament level, you should know that only a fraction of the cards in circulation are any good.

If you could max your energy to 16, you could then take the additional 12 cards to thicken up amounts in your deck, playing less energy means playing all of your cards wisely, good luck.

Well, at first I would just be "practicing" strategies on my husband, but I intend on playing competitively in the future. Is there a link I could go to where the "good for tournament" cards are listed?

There is a pretty good resource guide here to check out if you haven't already. It's very good for new players to figure out what sort of things are good and competitive.

Variety is not always a good thing.
Draw support and speed usually wins games.
I highly doubt you would ever need or want 30 energies in a game. I rarely see more than the low teens.
and most players run no more than x2 different energies.
work in multiple copies of Juniper/Sycamore, N, Colress, Shauna, Level/Ultraball. don't rely just on the draw.
for each turn, you need to work thru as much cards as you can.
don't worry about decking out. its no use to have cards "left" if you wind up losing the game anyway.
my son ran Blastoise/Keldeo/Kyurem. and he was always about to deck out.

you should think about what is your primary strategy...
you have minimal energy acceleration.
is blastoise filler? or primary? strategy.

playtest your deck. but start sifting out cards you hardly use.
for the "majority" of your cards. if its worth putting in your deck....
you probably should run 2 or more.
build your primary/secondary strategy.
then make everything else support that.

you can also take a look at the deck list
from Worlds or other recent tournaments.
then you can get an idea of the winning decks/strategy.

there's a reason why the top 8 decks are consistent.
they are good at what they do/strategy.

Since this is expanded format I don't see why you are running Cheren and Tierno there are so many better supporter cards to choose from also I would run roller skates over Cheren and Tierno sure its a coin flip but it doesn't use your supporter per turn. Also in expanded we have cards like colress, N, computer search for consistency. Also just to add as the other people have said pokemon is all about drawling on to the right cards at the right time and having a good strategy and being able to pull it off most of the time. You can classify decks for two ways cluncky which means its slow and takes a long time to setup or speedy these are the decks that setup in only a turn or two and then dish out some massive damage. PS SORRY FOR THE WALL OF TEXT.
