Do you enjoy the new holo?

I think it looks very complimentary and good on the 5ban holo cards which all Kalos pokemon are illustrated, but on the other illustrated ones (such as Dusknoir or Rypherior for example) it does not look very good and instead looks sort of cheap.

If you don't like it, what would you rather have?
 
I like the current Holo for the Kalos Pokémon, but I wouldn't complain if they brought back the BW Holo. It was better, or at least that's what I think.
 
I do not like the current holo design, I actually prefer the Black and White holo design. To me the current holo design is boring and does nothing for the cards.
 
Honestly, I'm not a fan and I'd prefer even the BW holo over the XY holo. Both are disappointing, and I think both look cheap.

Galaxy foil is still my favorite, and I'd love for it to make a full comeback.
 
I like a lot more than the BW pattern. Though I'm with CMP in hoping that the Galaxy style comes back. It was just so pleasing to the eyes.

When did the Galaxy pattern end?

I loved that style in Neo Genesis. Some of my favorite holos of all time.

The last set to use it was Arceus.
 
I like this holo even more than the BW holo shine (and that's saying a lot considering I was very happy with the BW holo shine). It's pretty basic, but that's why I love it so much, it stands out very well and easily let you know "Hey, you just pulled a holo, congrats!". It helps a lot that the backgrounds for these cards are very well illustrated, and make the holo look great, the best example I think would be holo Goodra or holo Florges (only one of which I have so far, that damn Goodra is hiding).
 
I don't mind them, they look better than the BW ones at least. I don't understand why they don't bring back the old holos, they looked so much better D:
 
I do like it, it looks really good on Japanese cards as these havo holo borders as well. I think I liked the Galaxy holo the best, just like most people
 
I like the new holo much better than those horizontal lines of the BW holos, they looked horrible IMO.
Of course, the cosmic/galaxy holo is the best type.
 
I like the new holo, although it is a bit hard to tell that some cards are even holos.
I am not a fan of the horizontal holo pattern. Like everyone else, Galaxy was/is the best and I wish they would bring it back.
 
The Japanese patterns look way better than the Japanese BW holos. The English BW looks better than English XY holos.

The 5Ban cards sort of blend with the 3D well but it still looks really weird and out of place. The Kalos starters promos for example, it's just photoshop background and a really 3D looking Pokémon with a flashly foil. Not my favorite.

Man if the Galaxy foil came back? I'd buy packs more often and keep a lot more of the cards. I actually still think the older ex cards look better than the new EX cards.
 
I prefer the BW era's holo pattern to XY's. In the later BW sets the line pattern actually looked REALLY good compared to the first BW sets.
 
Are the Full Art EXs going to be a continued trend in all XY sets? I hope so. They are probably the most beautiful cards in the TCGs history.

I agree. The texture on them makes them so wonderful!
I'm not a fan of the Mega's though, if only they had a similar style foil to the Full Art EXs.

I like them well enough. I only think they need just a little something extra to differentiate them from the regular Ex's besides the Japanese text.
