Dolphin's Fakes: Classic Evolutions

RE: Dolphin's Fake Cards (Updated 5/31)

Looks like I have a lot to go through. The last one I saw was Typhlosion.

I can tell you're getting much better at this, things look much cleaner, and more so the more you progress. Let's see what I found this time...
~Text on the Sentret's attacks looks a tiny bit wider than normal for some reason
~For Noctowl (which I think is better as holo), the word "power" in the last sentence of the Poke-Power is capitalized. It shouldn't be.
~For Spinarak, it's "can't retreat", not "cannot retreat".
~For Ariados, the Body should be worded "The Defending Pokémon's Retreat Cost is {C} more."
~For Ariados' attack, the sentence says "If tails, the Defending Pokemon is not Paralyzed." It's not paralyzed?
~For Chinchou...I know the first attack does no damage, but every attack that inflicts paralysis requires a coin flip - with Magnezone LV.X being the only exception, and even then you must discard energy. It just seems a little...broken.
~For Lanturn the power should say "...you may search your discard pile for an Energy card and attach it to Lanturn". And it says "before you attack", not "before your attack".
~For Umbreon, there needs to be a -30 next to the Resistance symbol. The Stage 1 bit also seems to disappear into the card background.

I can definitely see you improving; keep up the good work!

RE: Dolphin's Fake Cards (Updated 5/31)

Yay! Thanks! I will get on those fixes! =]

I also redid the blank a bit and added a Chikorita V2. If you guys could check that out and comment on it, I would really appreciate it!!!

RE: Dolphin's Fake Cards (Updated 6/1 - PLEASE COMMENT ON CHIKORITA V2))

I commented on dA. :)

RE: Dolphin's Fake Cards (Updated 6/9 - Neo Revival VERSION 2)

I've been slowly redoing the cards to fit the new blanks Check 'em out! =]

RE: Dolphin's Fake Cards (Updated 6/9 - Neo Revival VERSION 2)

So far, in regards to the new blanks, I think the larger ones look better than the smaller ones - mostly because it looks like the smaller ones just look slightly blurry/fuzzy. (Just look at Chikorita and you'll see what I mean.)

Here are the mistakes I noticed:
--On Chikorita: SLEEP POWER
--On Bayleef: The card in general looks a bit blurry, and in the dex entry, it says 'perls' instead of 'perks'. As for Evolutionary Impulse...nothing was wrong with it per se, but I remember Bayleef MT's attack of the same name let you search for any Evolution card, not just an evo of Bayleef.
--On Meganium: At the top right, it says to put Meganium on the Basic Pokemon. It should say 'on the Stage 1 card'. There is also no minus sign near the resistance (just the number 20).
Cyndaquil had no errors that I noticed.

...this is odd; I didn't think you'd make a slip-up like that. Ah well, spellcheck doesn't find absolutely everything, and there's a lot of stuff you need to make note of to make a "perfect" blank.

RE: Dolphin's Fake Cards (Updated 6/9 - Neo Revival VERSION 2)

I know I say it on DA, but will say it here too - these rock :D

One thing though, bung a copyright for yourself on the card somewhere (I use either the top right or bottom left with about 50% opacity) just something extra for your arts security :)

RE: Dolphin's Fake Cards (Updated 6/9 - Neo Revival VERSION 2)

@DNA: It's odd that I made the mistakes? It happens I guess. I'm horrible at proof reading stuff. =P I really appreciate you helping out. =]

@aschefield: Thanks!! I added a copyright. I actually made every single part of these new blanks (even the Neo evolution thing at the top =]) so thanks for reminding me to add that. =]

RE: Dolphin's Fake Cards (Updated 6/9 - Neo Revival VERSION 2)

I say it's odd because the last batch you had contained very few (if any) errors, and they were relatively inconspicuous. That's why I found it odd that I caught these more easily.

RE: Dolphin's Fake Cards (Updated 6/9 - Neo Revival VERSION 2)

This is why.

You forget that Poison-types only got assigned to the {P} color when Diamond&Pearl came out. Before that they were {G}.

RE: Dolphin's Fake Cards (Updated 6/9 - Neo Revival VERSION 2)

Yep. That's why. =]

It looks a little funny since Crobat is purple...but I wanted to stick to the Neo style as much as possible. =]

RE: Dolphin's Fake Cards (Updated 6/9 - Neo Revival VERSION 2)

Whoah, you're a pretty good faker and I've ever even seen you before. Keep up the good work!
And good job on choosing the art btw, it's all pretty rad.

RE: Dolphin's Fake Cards (Updated 6/21 - Neo Revival VERSION 2)

Thanks much!

Yeah, I'm fairly new at this so that may be why. ;)

Added some new cards!

RE: Dolphin's Fake Cards (Updated 6/21 - Neo Revival VERSION 2)

For Quilava: I know you put a number for Quilava's resistance (20 instead of 30), but it is customary that if you put a number for one of them, you also include the number for the other; you can either remove the resistance number (so it becomes the implied -30 instead), or put a x2 next to weakness. The latter, though, would necessitate adding that on all your fakes. Also in the dex entry, 'non-flammable' is missing an M.
For Typhlosion: Devastating is misspelt in the dex entry, and in the top right, it needs to say "Put Typhlosion on the Stage 1 card", instead of Stage 1 Pokemon. (Weird, I know, but that's how it is.)
For Totodile: The number damage from the attack (20) needs to have a + next to it. Speaking of which, the flavor text the attack's base damage is 30, not 20. Which is it?
For Croconaw: When you say "Choose all of the Energy cards you find there", the words 'of the' are unnecessary. Also, all the flavor text for the Poke-Power and the attack is a bit too big, making it appear almost scrunched together.
For Feraligatr: Same "Stage 1 card" error with Typhlosion, and also for the attack, it needs to say "Flip a coin for each {W} energy", not "Flip 1 coin...".

I wonder, though, why are you redoing these fakes you've already made? ...I guess it makes a bit of sense, since you don't want to make too many in the old style before shifting to a new one, but even so they appear to be almost carbon copies of the old blanks.
I still like them all the same, however.

RE: Dolphin's Fake Cards (Updated 6/21 - Neo Revival VERSION 2)

I'm redoing them all so they all look the same and I wanted to change the attacks and artwork around a little bit. Eventually, I'll put all of the old ones in the scraps and it'll just be the new blanks. =]

I'm going to jump around a little though and so some Pokemon I haven't done yet!

I know the Neo cards had a resistance of -30, but I like 20 better. =] And they also only had the resistance marked, not the weakness.

Man, I thought they were error free this time! Ah well. Maybe next time. =]

RE: Dolphin's Fake Cards (Updated 7/3 - SNEASEL)

Hm, hm! Not bad! Not bad at all! Even better yet I saw no wording mistakes.

This is probably one of my more favorite of the fakes. I mean, Dark Spy would just be a ridiculously awesome move. Tech it into anything and you know what your prizes are. Or, hope your opponent techs it and does the work for you. Bwahahahahahaha!!

RE: Dolphin's Fake Cards (Updated 7/3 - SNEASEL)

Thanks thanks!! =D

I really like how Sneasel turned out!! It's one of my favorites now.
