It wouldn't make a difference. You can make the same numbers whether it's positive or negative. It doesn't make it easier.

(8-7)*5=4+1
or
(-7+8)*5=4+1
or
(-8+7)*5=-4-1

You aren't neccesarily given positive integers; you are given digits that you must manipulate into an equation.

-5-((9/3)/3)=-6
Is the same as
-5+((-9/3)/3)=+(-6)

But those digits that you are given happen to be positive (unless someone were to give you negative integers like: 453(-2)9).

I mean technicality right?

(7 / 7) = (9 + 4) ^ 0
