RE: eBay Buyer

Nope. Receipts don't do anything. I have someone claim they didn't receive a 25$ Human Alliance Bumblebee on me before. Most likely that person wasn't lying since I DID package it with regular tape and not duct tape... but could have been because the toy was more used than he liked and had buyer's remorse. Easily opened a case, I took a photo of the receipt and showed it to ebay. Ebay closed the case and refunded that buyer.. =_= all cause I didn't pay the extra .80 cents for tracking.

Nowadays anything that sells more than 15$ I use tracking. Anything lower, I just bite the bullet and refund or replace. I usually will look at the feedback and observe the buyer's feedback left for others to see if there is anything suspicious.

I have had someone open a claim for a Moltres holo (Next Destinies). I refunded 1.25$. >.> Same buyer bought AGAIN... bought a full art Mewtwo. Lowest price too. Tried to open case (several times, ebay denied it as it was still too soon) 3rd time I just sent an e-mail "Oh you haven't gotten it yet? This number says otherwise." BAM. He shut up right away and I got him reported. Now... he... he no longer exiiiiiists!!! (BW Megatron reference)

EDIT: Oops I'm sorry, didn't realize this thread was from the 24th. Today is the 7th of March. I am way late. My bad!

Hes started being abusive and offense using bad language in his messages now. If he gets a refund and I get the cards back in worse condition or any missing. What will then happen?

First off, make sure you maintain a degree of professionalism within your communication. Ebay has rights to access all your messages, and most likely will do that if a case occurs. This will only help your side. If the case does occur that it resorts to him returning your cards (which I would recommend rather than the $75 refund), then I believe you can contact eBay as well and file for a case.

I always state in my ebay auctions, photo shows the exact item your are bidding on. Please examine it carefully for condition.

I recently got a neutral feedback from someone, when I asked why they did not respond. The item was exactly what they wanted. In their feedback it said fast shipment, good seller. So why the neutral? I never found out, I tried to appeal to ebay but it got denied.

Also, just an FYI to everyone the US postal service now includes tracking on all packages (regular envelopes = NO). There is no additional cost, but I think postage has gone up a tiny bit.

:S That's a little outrageous. Don't freak out or start flipping out back, although you're not being watched by management like a job you still gotta be the professional one.

I dunno what to tell you since ebay is like an automated judge. You can try to go through with your side and try to show ebay that buyer is being unreasonable and abusing the Buyer Protection Policy or you can counter refund and hopefully come to good terms.

At this point I am afraid he may have pulled the bait and switch on you and switched his crap condition ones for yours.

I'm having an issue with a sale. I've been waiting 4 days for a buyer to make a payment and they still haven't. I have contacted the buyer asking about it and I have yet to receive a message. They have 0% feedback and I am considering to never let anyone with 0% feedback buy from me now. I figured I wouldn't be like most people and give them the benefit of the doubt, but it's little things like that, that bother me. Is there any way to cancel this if he is taking 5 days? Because this is just ridiculous.

Go to Resolution Center and open a claim against him.

Open an unpaid item case
If you haven't received payment for an item that ended at least 4 days ago, eBay can open an unpaid item case for you.

Alright thanks~ Apparently it hasn't entirely been 4 days yet, only within the 2 hour mark.

Thank you again! c'B

fake cards on ebay

Hi guys,

Have you ever bought cards on ebay where the seller uses scans of cards then sends you fake cards?
I hate it when that happens I have had it done to me like three times over the years and it happen again last week.

Question I have is are we allowed to have sticky thread made up for bad ebay sellers and sellers of fake cards so one gets stung by these scammers?

Cheers Darth

RE: fake cards on ebay

I say no but, If you buy an item that is not legit you should wright a letter to Amazon, ebay and (or) a review on that seller. You must also look at the sellers closure on the seller you are buying from.
If you want to help stop a scam from happening to other's take that first step.Contact the Website that is letting this seller, sell these fake cards..

RE: fake cards on ebay

Fair enough, I do report it but nothing gets done about it I just want to make people be aware of such things.

always provide a tracking number when dealing with ebay. ALWAYS

Even then paypal still sides on the buyer most of the time I had a case where I had tracked it uploaded all proof and still I lost

few tips.
1. Always send tracked and signed delivery add it in to the price of the card when selling E.G you want to sell a card $5 add x to the price of the card x meaning the difference between normal post and tracked and still leave the postage the same price.

1.a or just offer the extra options in the listing but always send a message to the buyer claiming (this is if the buyer dose not want to use the options) you have agreed not to use the option of tracking registered or any other shipping options and you agree that I as the seller is not responsible for lost stolen or damaged good during postal transit do you agree yes or no. Keep the message as backing and proof for your case I suggest copy and paste it word or text document.

2. always take photos of your cards you sending Note make detailed shots of the cards back and front to protect you for scammers who say they are damaged.

2.a take photos of the envelope, padded bag ect with the address of the recipient.

3. Always keep your receipt and form from the tracking or scan it on your computer incase of paypal or ebay claim.

4. If the deal seems to good to be true or heavily in your favour don't take as it normaly means a scammer, always use your gut instic.

Although some times all these still will not work in your favour it is the best bet to insuring a safer transaction on ebay.

I hope this helps out a little.

Some info here is incorrect.

For example, if the item is worth under 250$ and has been shipped tracked with delivery confirmed, you should win the case.

If an item is damaged then you should have insurance to cover it. If the item is different condition than stated then only way to prove it is with pictures of pre-shipment but is usually a paypal loss for the seller and you should expect to give a refund and get the item back.

Telling a buyer that you are not responsible for losses or damage will do nothing. Paypal only cares about delivery condition and state of item, you stating that you are not responsible has no effect on their ruling whatsoever.

Also, all orders worth over 250$ must have signature confirmation. Even if the item is stated as delivered, without signature confirmation the seller will lose the case.

There are many many more rules, I've only outlined the major ones.

I do understand that those are just some tips to help people out and I am well aware about the message saying im not held responsible it just adds a little more proof on the sellers side I have signature on all my items even if it is a $2 card my rep is worth more than any thing one negative can cost you big time on ebay

I've had terrible luck with eBay before, they closed my account once because people lied about receving and what not. What I learned was, don't sell unless you have money to send tracking. I always, always send tracking. To Australia from here it costs £9 for tracking about $14. So I only would list items for Australia if I had the money. Try to keep within your country if selling, if you're in the US you have the advantage as it's bigger and more people collect. The UK Pokemon TCG fanbase is rather small. I don't sell on eBay anymore, I had about 35 feedback 100% on my second account, but I had issues with PayPal.

Another thing to note is that as a buyer, you are only allowed to file 3 cases against sellers a year with paypal. Basically all rippers are ignored after three attempts so Paypal protects sellers that way too.

I am not sure, but I remember reading it somewhere in their policy and being happy about it.

I will try to find the direct link...

EDIT: Here it is under part c, #4

https://www.paypal.com/ca/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=xpt/Marketing_CommandDriven/popup/BCSeeDetails-outside

Also, sellers may file as many claims as they want, no limit on them from what I've seen.

well that is good to know thanks for the info

No problem, there are a lot of policies and rules with Ebay and Paypal. A lot of people get angry at the system but in reality it's their own fault for not understanding the rules.
