Eelzone, Magneboar, or Reshiboar?

I have all the cards to make any three of these decks. Which one should I make and which one would do the best in tournaments?

In my opinion, Eelzone is the best. If its reshiboar EX, then that is in second if its regular reshiboar, that died a while ago. Here is why Eelzone is better than magneboar.

In my opinion, Eelzone is much more viable. Magneboar is plagued with one of the most classic issues in TCG history, it requires two stage 2 lines to function. It is also worth noting that your Emboar being brought up into your active can be a large issue, especially if it is OHKOd. Eelzone is faster, more consistent, and can recycle its energy slightly more effectively than Magneboar. Magnezone Eels also gets to use cards like Zekrom, Raichu Prime (if you are adventurous) and Zekrom EX, which are all very solid backup attackers.

Then its just a personal preference between Reshiboar EX and Eelzone. Eelzone can OHKO EXs for a 2-1 prize exchange so I think Eelzone is the best.

Eelzone is with out a doubt best, but that also means a lot of people are going to tech for it and be very prepared for the matchup, which is a downside. Personally I'd probably go Reshiboar (or phlosion if you can) as that seems like the safest bet.

I think Reshiboar is too outdated since its hp is relatively low and its attack is only 120 compared to Magnezone and the EXs. I think eelzone is the best since it does not take a long time to set up and Zekrom EXand Raikou EX (not yet released) can be added in too, but it does have its down side because so many decks tech against it.

True It's HP isn't the highest any more but with zone and the EX's you have much greater downsides to them being ko'd. (being a stage 2 and being worth 2 prizes respectively.)

It doesn't use Reshiram BW anymore. It uses Reshiram EX.

It most definitely still uses the old Reshiram. Typically 3/2 or 3/1 BW/EX split.

No, you may be thinking of Reshiphlosion. Reshiboar is dead. Reshiboar EX is not. It runs 3 Reshiram EX, and maaaybe 1 Reshiram BW as a mewtwo counter. However, Reshiram BW is a crappy mewtwo counter.

I personally think Reshiboar would be best for a tournament. Using Blue Flare to leave you with 1 Energy makes Mewtwo EX cry. You would need to play plenty of techs though. Magneboar isn't as good because it is too easy to disrupt and has too little room.

Eelzone and Magneboar can do that too though; just lost zone one of the two energy on your Magnezone.

But, how will you get those energies back onto Magnezone?

.....It matters how each deck is built. Reshiboar can usually always have the energies it need to attack, with Cilan and Fisherman, but it tends to be pretty slow, but not incredibly slow. Magneboar is way too slow, and Eelzone is fast, but loses energies quickly. If you play Zekrom EX and Mewtwo EX in Eelzone, it is a great deck and doesn't lose energies as much, and Reshiboar can play Mewtwo EX too, or Magnezone Prime to help with drawpower. In my opinion, Reshiboar is probably tied with Eelzone, with Eelzone being better because of Emboar's completely terrible retreat cost.

You're splitting hairs on the reshiboar/reshiboar ex thing, Reshiram ex is best as a one of and a terrible main attacker, Reshiram bw handles Mewtwo just fine, and your argument makes it apparent that you haven't tested any of it at all and you're just running on bad theorymon.

Reshiram EX is the main attacker of the deck. I have tested it. It's been shown time and time again that Reshiboar is dead. Reshiram BW does not handle Mewtwo just fine because they can just switch out of Mewtwo, then bring up another attacker to kill you. Your argument makes it apparent that a) you're really, really attached to Reshiram BW, or b) you've been testing against people running their {G} toolbox or something.

Ok but in the real world of competitive pokemon what I'm saying is common knowledge. I've tested it not from Reshiboar's side but from the other with Gardevoir/Gothitelle/Mewtwo EX and BW Reshi wrecks it. Even if they KO 2 Reshi for every Mewtwo you KO it's still an even trade off. It's Reshi dumping that energy that makes Mewtwo have trouble. Reshi EX is one of the weakest EXs and is only good for an occasional 150.

If you don't want to agree you don't have to, but have fun going 2-X at states.

I'm not even playing any of those decks for states lol. GGG is not going to work. Gothitelle is dead because of all the Mewtwos. So, that means Mewtwo is your main attacker. Of course Reshiram BW will wreck you if you don't have another answer. What do you think is better, 120 if you can get the required 2 energy per turn, or 150 every turn? If you don't want to agree you don't have to, but have fun going 0-X at states. :p

Quoting for truth.

You simply can't run only EX attackers. There's too much risk involved in that. A competitive deck in this format needs to be able to play its early to mid-game without EX cards if necessary.

Against a deck like CMT, Reshiram BW is amazing. It's one of the absolute best soft counters to Mewtwo, and with an Eviolite Tornadus can't even 2HKO you. Reshiboar should be run with a 3-1 or 3-2 split of Reshiram BW and Reshiram EX. Using an EX as a main attacker is, as mentioned above, just too risky. You basically auto lose to anything that can OHKO you a couple of times, wether it's by weakness or Magnezone. I like Reshiboar as a deck better than Reshiboar EX.

But isn't regular Reshiboar dead? Mewtwo EX is the best counter for Mewtwo. I really don't see the need for Reshiram BW. It just burns your precious energies.
