Exclusive Eeveelution Cards to Release in China’s “Gem Pack 2!”

Again, delusional. Japan would have put them in if they wanted them too. They are not even the cards from terstial festival and it wouldn’t have made a difference for Japanese pulls. It was only a problem, again, for the way TPCI handled the set. Get them from China if you want them.
Japan not including the cards doesn’t automatically excuse TPCI’s poor decision making. Whether or not they were in Terastal Festival is irrelevant; the issue is that key artwork cards that clearly belonged in the set were withheld, breaking the flow of what should have been a cohesive release. Saying “get them from China if you want them” misses the point entirely. This isn’t about availability it’s about the integrity of the global set experience. The collectors and players impacted aren’t just mad they didn’t get the cards, they’re frustrated by the deliberate fragmentation and the way TPCI keeps fumbling what should be simple consistency. Just because Japan didn’t do something doesn’t mean TPCI had to double down and make it worse.

I don’t think it has to do with that necessarily while there is a bit of truth in it. China is much more consumer driven in this aspect. But also, China is much more used to mobile games and Asian culture so the crossover from
Japan is much more direct. They are playing more than we do too.

For Pokemon cards and for the above is not “that they demand” better treatment, I just think they have the better sales team. It is not Japan who decides their market or ours, and the one for the western audience obviously think they can do with the least work possible. I belive China as a whole buys more cards than the US tho.
Interesting. Thanks for the reply.
And yeah, I guess Quest WOULD keep getting updates if the popularity of mobile games means it has a thriving player base in China.

Hang on… The art rare cards are all clearly connected in the background, but the river in the foreground is… Very much not?? What a weird visual
the images are the same area, but not connected; for example, the river in all 4 cards is the same river, but the picture is from a different angle, so it doesn't have to match exactly.

It’s not wrong. You talking bs in both if your post: there isn’t one person deciding who gets what. They have their own divions and the one in China just does a better job.

In your fantasy there is someone sitting in Japan and telling people to do this in China and that in western territories. That is simply not the case. Get a grip on reality.

Pokémon cards are distributed by different companies in various regions, even though it’s the same franchise.

1. Japan: In Japan, Pokémon cards are distributed by The Pokémon Company itself. These cards are the original ones and often the first editions released.

2. Western World (USA, Europe, etc.): In North America and Europe, The Pokémon Company International handles the distribution and localization of the cards. It’s still the same company, but with a separate division for the western markets.

3. China: In China, the distribution of Pokémon cards is handled by Tencent in collaboration with The Pokémon Company. The cards sold in China may differ in some details (e.g., language versions or special sets) from those in other regions.

In summary: While The Pokémon Company plays a role in all three regions, there are different subsidiaries or partners that manage the distribution.
To correct a slight inaccuracy, the Pokémon TCG in China is entirely managed independently by Pokémon Shanghai (PSH), while Tencent is only responsible for the digital game(Unite, ofc PSH also make big ). PSH's role in the Pokémon TCG is fully aligned with TPCI's, with the key difference being that Pokémon Shanghai is a wholly-owned subsidiary of TPC, rather than being a peer entity like TPCI and TPC. All final decisions by PSH regarding artwork, card sales, etc., must undergo approval by TPC before release.
