As Xous has already entered and Yakkov will be too, I think I need to step my work up a gear if I'm to have a chance of winning. I was originally going to submit these two (final evo not yet done), but now I think I will have to do some revamps.

Did I mention that this competition is awesome? 'cause it is.

Well the panda idea is a good start I think. I was thinking it could be a Fire starter. I don't believe there ever was a panda as a starter.

Let's see:

1st Gen: A Lizard
2nd Gen: A Mouse
3rd Gen A Chick
4th Gen A Chimp

My point should be all you really need. But out of the four Pokémon generations, there has only been one type of cross over Fire type, a Fighting/Fire type.

So I was thinking, by using Xous's idea as an example make this Pokémon evolve into a Dark/Fire type. I mean, they are not very common crossover Pokémon.
 
^ yea but scampy decides the types for the pokemon
you have to wait to find out the type
 
Although Fire/Dark won't be used for the starter type... hold that thought, because it can still work for the typings I have planned. :)

that looks awesome, scampy.
if there IS anything i can criticize, it is the main black border of the pokemon is a lot thicker than his arm's border, which look a little weird.
other than that little thing, it really is good
and you shouldnt worry about that, its no big deal

also, that IS pencil right?
what do you use to color it? color pencils?

For the voting process, I can't give you much more information other than the fact it's a public vote. We might end up doing three separate votes (one for the design, one for the concept, one for the name/dex entries), and the winner will be whatever gets the most in all three fields.

Thanks scampy. It was a lot of work to finish them up. I'm looking forward to the voting especially because it's cool to see what people think of the fakemon rather than literary works or Wi-Fi teams. :)

It's something different and I hope I can collect some votes. =D

All I need to do is draw all my Fakemon on paper and color it in. I'm pretty impressing with all of your designs guys. ;3 I like how my Fakemon came out. :D
 
I might join, I'm doing an elephant that goes from seed to sprout to petals. You'll get it when/if I finish.

its a wodden puppet-like pokemon.

here is my FINAL decission.
this is a rough draft of my basic pokemon. its based on a wooden puppet that attaches its strings to the enemy, coping its stats and the last move that they used. the only stat that remains the same is HP, Def, and SpeDef, which are all really high

It was made on the computer, so it's pretty kinda awful for now, and I'll get round to hand drawing it at some point. But at least you get an idea of what it'll look like.
It's meant to be like.. a sheep/goat thing.. which will evolve into a bulkier goat(maybe a ram) thing and then a yak. :F

I tried out my new Tablet and made this monstosity. Instead of starting from the ground up, I kind of drifted off on a creative tangent and made something I would call the final Evolution rather then a Basic Starter Pokémon. So here it is, I might finish it's line, don't know... that's the bad part about starting with the final Evolution O_O.

Bird, grass, evil thingy ;P

It's too fat to fly :F... I tried to make it look as dark as possible, and also added a little foliage in if it looked good. =]

lol i added a name suggestion (comes from "ent")
looks pretty good. you should add some branches coming forward and maybe out the back so it looks more 3D. other than that, good work!
 
Thanks, originally, the eyes were little twigs coming out, but it didn't seem dark. Haveing the "Eyes can see into the soul of their prey" sounds dark. I like entania, (LOTR FTW!!) Anyway thanks, I like it better than my mountain man idea, lol...
