I see like half-and-half. It starts out as a Furret then the back end turns into a Wailord. Perhaps this is where the confusion stemmed from. The two Pokémon look too similar.

Pichu's always been my bud for some reason. I think it stems from the egg in Gold and Silver and Smash Bros Melee making up a ton of my childhood. (The egg in-game wasn't a big part of my childhood, I hope you guys know what I mean. I can't think of how to word it.)

My two favorite Pokemon would be Charmander and Arceus. I've been a fan of Charmander ever since the first season and continue to consider it one of my most favorite.
