February Filler Set

Shiny cards are going to be in tins, blisters, and stuff like that. Why would they put shinies like that in a set, when they could make more money putting them in tins. What is going to make PUSA more money?
 
Why would they leave out only the most broken cards from a set if they planned to just release them later?

How are cards like Pachirisu, Tangela, Tangrowth, Mime Jr., Seviper and Zangoose any more broken than GENGAR PRIME which we DID get in Triumphant?
 
which is exactly why we will get the cut lost link cards. its just a matter of when and how
 
I hope we japanese promos, if we get english made cards, we cant use them at champions, because the japanese dont have em. D:

so, sorry for them which are going to championships.
 
They have already started releasing the shinies as tins with the current batch of tins, they have to come out someway I guess. I think if there is a filler set which I believe there will be, they will like power keepers release some old favourites with different art like say Claydol, with missing cards that we haven't got plus a whole bunch of new cards.
 
I think they're going to remake old cards that were popular and just change the picture, like they did in PK
 
I think they are gonna do a filler set as well. Huge time gap until BW, plus a good amount of useful cards that werent released it. I can see it being like PK (like other people said), and if so, it will be awesome.
 
This would be what I would love:

Primes (6):
Charizard
Blastoise
Venusaur
Mewtwo
Aerodactyl
Dragonite

Legends:
Articuno/Zapdos
Zapdos/Moltres
Moltres/Articuno

And then most of the set be similar to Base 2 and the Legend set where highlight cards get to make a Comeback,but also include cards that make the Lost Zone not so broken, but at the same time, make it devastating (maybe a stadium or tool that could help make mew prime have more than 60 HP, 100 when belted and snowpointed)
 
There's 3 real options for what the set's "focus" could be...

Kanto would probably have Primes/Legends like H1Z1 said he would like, except probably with something (Gyarados maybe?) over Aerodactyl.

Hoenn would probably have Sceptile/Blaziken/Swampert/Metagross/Flygon/something random Primes, and probably Regi LEGENDs.

Sinnoh's would be equally obvious. (Torterra/Blaziken/Empoleon/Garchomp/random primes and pixie LEGENDs.)

If they do make a filler set, and it is themed, it will probably be Kanto or Sinnoh. They seem to be avoiding Hoenn until its inevitable remakes. I'm thinking Sinnoh is quite possible due to the number of Sinnoh references in Gen V.
 
I would actually love if they did do aerodactyl, and made it a prime-reprint with more hp of his original Debut

would break the game imo
 
I dunno about really early cards. Considering it is still a HS set I think the legends and primes should still be gen 2 or if it's going to contain lots of Dp reprints and promos maybe they should do gen 4
 
I don't really see a filler set happening cause there's no new Primes and LEGEND cards to make up for it in Japan to be translated. Unless we get English made Pokemon cards to make up for the set which is a bad idea to begin with I still don't see it happening.

I've seen how bad it got in the Naruto CCG and I hope the same doesn't happen in the Pokemon TCG. That's almost like asking yourself to be shot in the foot. Our next set after HS Triumphant is going to be Black & White Base Set and we might get the rule changes sooner than expected.
 
How are English exclusives a bad idea? Beside, there's also the possibility that it won't even have any Primes/LEGENDS, or that it would include reprints. It's not as if we haven't had exclusives before. (Dark Raichu, along with half of Power Keepers.) They don't hurt the game at all, I don't see how you could possibly think they do. How could English-exclusives hurt the game any more than Japan-exclusives?
 
Remember that we may have gotten Dark Raichu in Team Rocket, but Japan picked it up in their Neo 2 set.

I don't recall how, but the 'exclusive' cards in Power Keepers did find it's way to Japan, as did reprints of Shaymin, Mewtwo, and I believe Rypheriro Lv.x.

On the other hand, look at how many promos and stuff we never got. The Palkia Lv. X reprint that came with the eventual Dialga Lv. X reprint. The Mamowswine from the Movie set that we got Dialga and Magnezone promos from. To say nothing of the long ago promos, the Vending Machine set, and the VS set.

So even though if a filler set did give us 'exclusive' primes and legends and other stuff, Japan would get them somehow, more than we can say for their exclusives coming here.
 
Let's keep this as a discussion of what we're gonna see in the next set, not what we hope. I am going to guess that we're going to see the Lost Link cards that we missed. After that, I'm guessing we're seeing PK-esque cards. If you all remember, PK ended the RSE-era with a terrible set. It had a few promos we missed and a bunch of really bad EX's (although a few of them saw a bit of play). Japan saw those EX's shortly after we did through promos and what not... but they kinda didn't care. I'm guessing we're going to see the same things. We also saw a few fun reprints from PK (Gardy RS <3). Perhaps we'll get some of our favorite DP cards coming back (no claydol plz). I have NO IDEA what those might be... but we'll see. Save for Absol EX, all of the EXs in PK were RSE pokemon... so we're probably gonna see a few DPPt Primes (still icky calling them that). If you remember, PK also finished the set of eeveelution * pokemon. Perhaps that means we'll see a completion of LEGEND pokemon as far as DPPt goes. Just look for pairs. We have the dogs, ho-oh, lugia, ray, deo, kyogre, groudon, palkia, dialga. I WOULD GUESS we might see Mew/Mewtwo, the legendary birds, the regis, or the pixies in some form of LEGEND cards. I would lean towards the regis just because we haven't seen too many incarnations of them recently. Either way, I hope I was able to offer some insite.
 
It seems to me right now, with nothing more than Power Keepers and the fact that we'd otherwise have a gap betwen Triumphant and the release of Black/White in America to back a filler set, there's a thin practically non existent line between what 'we're going to see' and what 'we hope to see' for this so far hypothetical set.

Maybe we'll get the Venusaur and Charizard to go with the Blastoise we got in Undaunted. Or a Infernape and Empoleon to go with the Torterra we got in Undaunted. if they're not saving the starters for a Hoenn remake, we might also get them. Here's an idea, how about legal reprints or Raikou, Entei, and Suicune to go with their LEGEND counterparts.

If they really wanna go farther back, the Japanese McDonalds released Palkia and Dialga promos we never got. A Mamoswine from the 11th movie set (where Regigias and Magnezone came from) and a Heatran that we never got either.
 
btw, why is every site assuming that Triumphant is the last gen 4 set? I went to Bulbapedia and they're already listing Black & White Collection as the next set and, the other day, I read an article on Smog magazine which said "... Triumphant, the last HS set.." or something like that... Stop with that! There's nothing confirmed yet...
 
I know it sounds funny, but I can totally see a filler set being made based on the Shiny Pokemon promos, having them as secret rares. The beast cards tie in with the Zoroark movie. Also, remember the tin inserts that said "Look for special "Shiny" Pokemon in upcoming expansions!".

But then again, they might just release them as Secret Rares in the first few BW sets, but for some reason I am convinced a filler set is coming.
