sooo long ago.... non-holo jungle set Vileplume, probably.
IIRC, I started out with a bunch of different-set boosters, and then proceeded to buy every theme deck I could find until the end of Gym Heroes (little n00b
).
My second (and last) trade was 3 of my commons for a non-holo fossil set Magneton. I learned several years later that I ripped him off (unintentionally).
I found a 1st ed. TR Dark Blastoise on the stairs at school.
Best school day ever. xD

Ahhh yes... In my first booster (EX Dragon Frontiers), I pulled the pure awesome Salamence ex δ. About 2 months later I bought a Suicune blister. In an Unseen Forces pack I got, I pulled T-Tar ex. Both of those are part of the only 4 ex's I've pulled myself. (The others are Aggron and Swampert, both CG)

The first card I ever got that became a tournament staple was Base Set Hitmonchan. It did Jab for 1 Fighting and inflicts 20 damage; and it did Special Punch for 2 Fighting and 1 Colorless and inflicts 40 damage. To think that this used to be considered one of the fastest cards with high damage output per Energy.
The first Shining card I got was Shining Gyarados. The first Pokémon-ex I got was Kabutops ex from Sandstorm. The first Pokémon-star I got was Mew-*. The first Level X card I got was Empoleon Lv.X.

Mom came home with a pack for both me and my brother.
He got a BLAAAAAASTOOOOIIIIISSSEEEEE.
It was funny, cause in Red/Blue, we started with Bulbasaur and Squirtle, respectively. ^^
Sadly, I jumped into the pool with it in my pocket about a year later. Now it's all curved... Still have it though.
My first card was an ERROR Bulbasaur from Base Set, I think I still have it but I can't find it right now, my first holo was a Nintales. My first EX was a Tyranitar EX from Unseen Forces, first shiny was none, I never got one, first * was again I never got one, first Lv.X was a Torterra and my first secret rare was a Charizard from SF. My first theme deck was the amazing OVERGROWTH.
I pulled my first "major" card in Easter of 2007.
Me and my little brother had gotten a Piplup and Turtwig tin that Easter. Before we begin opening the packs, I ask for him to trade one of my PK packs for one of his. He agreed.
So, we begin opening up our packs, and my first PK Pack had Claydol ex. Then, I opened the PK Pack I got from my little brother, and pulled Metagross ex. He felt like a sucker...
That was one good Easter, though. =)
