Forum being thrown away? Wha?

Don't listen to XieRH, he's just trying to be nice.

EDIT: The pokebeach main page has ads on the top and on the side and it would make sense for the main page to make more money since some people only come here for the news pokebeach brings and not the forums.

At the top of the main page under the banner is always an ad...you have never seen that?

And there is also the Sponsored box above Blaine's Quiz.
 
Last time I checked you have to pay for server space. :p

Paying for server space + College + other stuff = no money for poor old WPM. Besides, I'm sure we all be fine at a site like Serebii or Smogon or something, right?

I just realised something funny. Way back when the MLP thread was still open before being delegated to an official group, people would try to argue to get that thread locked on the basis of lack of productive discussion

I didn't hear anything either. You have to understand that stuff only gets conveyed via synchronous communications. It's not like e-mails get forwarded or anything.

The forums definately are NOT free.

You have to buy this domain, which costs about $15 a year, give or take $10

You also have to buy a server, and depending on the space limits, that can cost up to I believe $100 a year.
 
I'm talking about for us, not WPM. I'm saying that WPM doesn't make any profit from it - all he has to do is pay and he gets a tiny amount back from front page ads.
 
My guess is because the forums take up a lot of income and time, it would just be easier to get rid of it.
 
We could always make a new forum under a different name, scrap ads and use a free server (such things exist), with a new administrator that has more time on their hands and a new fleet of more mods.

Ummm I'm not entirely sure what to make of this situation. I hope it doesn't get trashed, that would be a real downer if it did :/.

Free servers and free domains are horrible. They take too long to load, and they also crash a lot.


NOTHING is going to happen! STOP WORRYING!
