Forum Rules Updated and Posted - All Members Must Read

May I mention in my posts things such as my retail store's Facebook page, Twitter account, Google events calendar, etc?

I've done this often in the past when promoting the store's pre-releases and Pokemon League.

OK the sites I have listed are Serebii PC Forums and Neoseeker. However since Neoseeker has 43,000 guests and roughly 500 members can I leave Neoseeker as it is a very big site. Let me know if I can keep Neoseeker there. Thanks.:)

Like the mods have said before, they have to have 5000+ members for you to be able to mention/link them. Although Neoseeker does have a large amount of guests if it does not have the required amount of registered members then I would assume you cannot link to their forums (I'm making this assumption since the rules do not mention anything about guests. They only mention that they must have 5000+ members and nothing more). As for Serebii, you are allowed to link to their forums (as long as you are not advertiseing like "Heey guyz you shoud tootaly come to SErbii cuz it's like beter than Pokezbeash!") since they have more than 5000 members but cannot link to there main site unless it is for relevant discussion purposes (eg. They have info on something that PB does not have). As for PC Forums, I am unsure.

Edit:
* Cris is not an actual mod and you should wait for a mod to confirm this

I realize that I'm not a mod, so I probably don't have the right answer. But I think I can help explain it to xxashxx.

Gonna have to be Forums with more than 5,000 members or nothing at all.

It needs to have 5000 members. The number of guests is irrelevant.

I beleive you can, as long as you don't advertise another Pokemon forum in the process.

Guys I will wait for a mod to respond as I am still waiting because I want to make sure if this is legal. Thanks. dmaster take a look at Neoseeker yourself to make the final answer. Thanks.:)

Have you actually looked at the site yourself to see? If not please take a look and let me know. Thanks XD.:)

EDIT: dmaster I forgot to mention one big thing about Neoseeker. You can post in certain forums if you are not a member of their forums. So this is kind of a 50/50 thing about those forums.:)

I hope I don't come off as a mean guy but it's not really about looking at the site it's about following the rules and guidelines WPM has set. If a certian forum does not meet the requirements WPM has provided then you can't link it. Sorry.

I know however I just remembered that non members can post in certain forums on the site and most are non members because of that privilege XD.:)

Does it have 5000 members?

That's the key part. It can have millions of lurkers, viewers, whatever you call them. But if it only has a few hundred members, being people who have registered for an account, then you can't link to/mention it.

I went onto Neoseeker, so we can end all this confusion, and checked out the amount of members they have. At the time I checked they had 412,238 members so it does meet the requirements. Here is the link that gives you all of Neoseeker's statistics (look at where it says "Neoseeker population").

Edit:
Geez was that so hard? :p

Some censors were lifted, but if they are used in a derogatory or mean way as outlined in the Rules, we will still count it as curses, so use them sparingly.

dmaster out.

I thought that was Guests. I was looking at the who's online list at the bottom of the forums and it said guests. Maybe I read it wrong on the list XD. Sorry for the confusion and mix up guys. Thanks.:)

I only just got time to re-read the rules. I noticed the small changes, but it's mostly the same. I love the new layout and easy access. Well done, mods!

One member had made an avatar and banner that used all the userbars. It got really confusing.

That was Robot3300. He was doing it mainly in memory of the old userbars, and was flinging them all into one banner so that everyone knew what they looked like (I think). He didn't mean to copy anything.

The member was probably trying to be creative when in fact it was breaching copyright rules. The only way a mod would believe that he did not know what the member was doing is if he was new to the forums or a n00b in this case. Kind of hard not to do it when you are not even trying. Sounds like copyright infringement to me. If the member does it a again then mods take action XD.:(

I can see a problem with the avatar rule... Too many people use Xous's avatars, and some of them even copy others' avatars without even knowing.

I thought we already HAD a rule for this? Am I not mistaken? I remember it saying if you copy an avatar or got one that matches another mod avatar you either got an infraction or a ban for doing so. Mine was made by Echosong which she made for me a few years back after I had the Glitter one which I lost somehow. Forgot how I lost it XD.:)

The rule used to only apply to mod avatars.

I remember when like 20 people used Zoroark avatars...

Thought so but I could not remember if it was still that way or not though. I remember some members got banned because the repeatedly kept using a mod avatar or WPM's Avatar. I remember Lucario of Light had an avatar similar to WPM's Blastoise one. The one he had up until he disappeared but not sure if he was warned or anything.:(
