Strategy:

The strategy here is to use BREAKthrough Gallade as an alternate attacker in a Vespiquen style deck. The draw for using Gallade is its high amount of health, an attack that's both easy to use with a Double Colorless energy and highly damaging, doing 130 damage. Maxie's Hidden Ball Trick is, of course, used to get it out of the discard. Premonition is also a really cool ability, especially with this deck's tendency to draw a lot. The amount of Pokemon cards in this deck also contributes to Vespiquen's damage, of course.

I'm using Ariados here mainly as a way to weather down enemies with poison, but I'm sure there are much better options to use for this sort of deck.

My main problem is deciding on an Energy type, along with cards to support that type, as well as probably replacing Ariados here. I considered Strong Energy, but that type of energy is both easily hammerable and locked to Gallade only. I'm using Grass Energy now only because an emergency situation might lead to something that needs Grass Energy having to attack. Even then, it's a shaky choice since most of the deck's attacks outside of Sensitive Blade and Bee Revenge are too weak to do noticeable damage.

It's possible that I could use Flareon and Fire Energy in this deck for the standard Blacksmith combo, but it would only be able to power up Vespiquen. Grass/Fire and Fighting for attack types is not too shabby though, and I'm definitely considering it despite my reservations.

What do you guys think? Since this is a BREAKthrough time deck, stuff like Bridgette and other cards from the set are fair game.

I think I'd rather drop the Ralts and Rare Candy and just aim to get Gallade out with Maxie's Hidden Ball Trick. That sounds more viable than fishing your deck for Rare Candy and Gallade.

Maxie certainly would be the main way to get it out, and I guess it's a lot better to discard Gallade and get it out than to Ultra Ball for it. I felt like an alternative way of getting it out might have possibly been needed, but.. yeah, it's probably a better idea to axe the Ralts and the candies.

I could try making the deck work with Metal Energy, and use Bronzongs to feed whoever I want with energy, but Bronzong isn't able to attach to an active Pokemon, so I'd have to have an attacker ready on the bench at all times. But hey, I guess that's the point, ahehe~

People have been known to play Bronzong is things like Raichu or Night March, so I definitely think Bronzong could work in Vespiquen. The only problem is that I could see you wanting both Bronzongs to be both on the Bench so you don't have to rely on hitting DCE's AND in the discard pile so you can deal more damage with Vespiquen simultaneously.

If you do want to go the Ralts+Rare Candy route. Theres Always Korrina to snag RC+gallade. And in a pickle at least its still a Item search supporter.

Bronzong does have that as a bit of an issue, yes.. It might still be workable due to the sheer amount of Pokemon, but even then, about 17 Pokemon in the discard is a sweetspot for defeating most EX's without a muscle band.

One thing that I've been considering that might also be aided by Korrina is using Evosoda in the deck. It would probably work better in a deck that uses Flareon and Jolteon instead of one with Bronzong, but the item is one that would be searchable with Korrina, and it'd let me evolve in a pinch, which does tend to be something I wish I could do with this deck from time to time.
