Gaia Volcano (P Groundon EX / Landorus / Hawlucha)

Primal Groudon is an evolution and can hit Pyroar through Intimidating Mane.

I have yet to see that actually see play, even in Pyroar decks. Regardless, if you're still not ready to start swinging with Groudon, you can still just switch out of the Active spot until you are ready. It's not like they can one shot you.

Thanks Mora, I will try out this weekend. Should have everything prepare.

Will let you guys know the result.

This build is really strong.

I lost Virgen but it was very close.
I won 2-1 vs M-Aggron deck.
Won 2-1 vs Keldeo-Blastoise
Won 2-0 vs night march.
Havn't tried with Gradevoir Deck and other meta

Against VirGen using the Hawluchas is a strong option i'm betting. So if it ever is really popular again maybe 3 Hawluchas is a good option.

Trainer - Item
Attach 1 basic energy card from your discard pile to 1 of your Mega Evolved Pokémon in play.
In playing against this deck, you might want to consider incorporating:
  • Mr. Mime (Bench Barrier). This Poké will protect your Groudon EX/MP Groudon EX from sniping Poké like Landorus EX, 'Bats, and/or Kyurem (PF) (one player ran TDK at the IL State tournament and did well with it); or
  • Healing. Ala Pokémon Center Lady, Super Potion, Potion, Jynx, etc. If your opponent is not running any Grass Pokémon, he/she will most likely need to 2-3 HKO your first MP Groudon EX. So, keeping it healed as much as possible helps when you start attacking and still build-up your second MP Groudon EX (can't assume Scramble Switch would be available to you all the time).
My strategy has been to typically to KO my opponent's starter(s) (Landorus or Landorus EX) while I concurrently damage the benched Groudon EX or MP Groudon EX. When my opponent does finally promote the MP Groudon EX to the active position, there is a sufficient amount of damage on the MP Groudon EX that I can just simply respond KO (assuming opponent KOd one of my EXs) with much less energy. At that point, I will can win any race to get more energy back into play (if I don't already have enough in play).

Hi TuxedoBlack,

Thanks for the review. Not sure on Mr. Mime at the moment since he cannot block Crobat and Golbat's effects. Will consider to loose one of the switch cards for one Max Potion. mega Turbo makes this deck much faster since Primal Groudon Ex can attack turn three now and it is also easier to built another one on the bench. Nevertheless a tech Max Potion would be nice with Scramble Switch.
