This thread bolstered my disliking of April Fool's Day... I'd say "Oh, you got me!", and I know I should lighten up, but... I guess I don't see the sense in making people happy for you and then going, "I got you". xD Again, not a fan of April 1st's tradition.

So... Too bad it was all fake? I'm not really sure what else to say. xP

I hope you're able to get published by them in the future, though. It'd definitely be a great thing. :3

In all seriousness, here are the truths- and lies- of my elaborate scheme.

Truth:

-I am actually going to send out a letter to Nintendo very shortly (though I'm unsure how to even begin yet) concerning rights to self-publish Enigmatic Star.
-Nintendo, from what I've gathered, is actually REALLY cool with fan stuff. I've heard this from quite a few sources by now (including a Gamestop guy that doesn't EVEN PLAY GAMES), so if that rumor has some truth to it, I'm going to take my chances with the company.
-Seth is actually a manager for Nintendo marketing stuff. :3 He is NOT fictional.
-I already know that I DO have those issues with my comic. They come from many many remarks I've gotten from it and the fact that I look at the pages and see it for myself. I will be fixing these pages before I attempt publication, because I'm incredibly perfectionistic like that. ;X
-I do have a screentonist working for free for me right now, who goes by Momo. I don't really know too much about the guy, other than he does really good toning work. Since I'd be selling this, it would get complicated with profit (HA!) rights with Momo, so I'd plan on actually making the comic color.

Lies:

The biggest one is that Nintendo would actually even consider publishing this (obviously). This amounts to several factors:
-...the biggest being Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Ginji's Rescue Team. This comic has been published by VIZ, and was also published in the pages of Nintendo Power. With one Mystery Dungeon comic already out, why on EARTH would they want to publish another one?
-I'd totally NOT be cool with them asking to tone the subtle themes of the story down. At all. The story is the heart of the comic, and if you mess with that, in my mind, it all falls apart. :B
-I never did send a letter. ;D
-I do doubt Mr. Seth would take the time to respond personally to me. He's a busy man! I just pulled his name and title off of an episode of Nintendo Week on my Wii. >D
-Because my art is sub-par in the comic industry, I know for certain someone with as little experience (and as few comics) as myself can successfully get published so easily. ;0
-I reacted completely differently than I think I would, to a point. I'd be MUCH more nervous than bouncing off the walls. I'm extremely insecure and paranoid of getting my artwork out there, and getting it published. It may not seem that way, but trust me, I'd be freaking out in not so good of a way.
-Not gonna lie, I partially did this to attract more attention to my comic. I was getting sick of having to double/triple post updates. Hey, two birds, one stone!


Man, you guys fell for this almost as hard as the person that claimed gullible actually WAS in the dictionary. :D

In all seriousness, I will be hopefully contacting Nintendo sometime in the future (probably when I have Chapter 1 all inked out), so if you are actually interested in buying a comic, I'll keep people updated in my comic thread. There will be many many good benefits to buying a comic, trust me, including all color pages, free signatures and potential shout-outs in the future volumes. ;D I wonder how many of you believe me when I say this. Seriously. ;D

...I was expecting half the forums to be hacked by now. Nonetheless, I will give you props for this being the most believable joke I've seen on this forum to date.
 
Okay, first off.

I am gullible. I fell for both April Fuel jokes since I've been here. Thankfully I don't feel to stupid about falling for this as I did the Admin thing last year.

Second.

I think this was kind of funny. But I, like Xous, hate April Fuels. =X however it's kind of a shame to me that no BIG joke has been pulled yet....

Third.

I wanted a copy of your comic in a real Comic Book! D=

Well, you'll be happy to know that after a day of trickery here/DA/Smackjeeves/work (I got some customers gooooood!), karma's biting back. :/ I dunno. It's sad to say that there were no really good pranks this year.

Anyways, towards the more thoughtful comments:

I am EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY grateful for all of those comments supporting me. I always have been, always will. I'm not gonna lie, I feel like a bit of a douche, but I SWORE that at least someone (Dmaster, you came to mind) would call me on shenanigans. BUT THEN NONE OF YOU DIDN'T. I honestly do feel a little bad about it and really do appreciate it. The only real reason I can continue as an artist is because of the comments I get (and I'm sure sometimes other artists feel that way too?)

Next, I could have been the biggest jerk in the world and made a joke like I was pregnant and getting an abortion or something. I was seriously considering it. I figured this would be more fun and uplifting. :3

And whereas it may seem that I just blew everything up in you guy's faces, this thread WILL push me over the nervous edge to contact Nintendo and try and aim for self-publishing rights, by October. I WILL be making my comic in a publishable form, whether I have to spam them with letters or not. Publishing my own story is the biggest dream of my life, so I'm not going to back down.

SO FOR THOSE WHO SAY THEY WANT A BOOK, YOU'RE NOW OFFICIALLY OBLIGATED TO GET ONE HAHAHA

Not really I don't blame you all if you hate me and want to die and not want to buy my book. Was a little mean. So yeah. I deserve anything that comes my way, including the fact that I'm sure I'm developing lactose intolerance. ASDF. D:
