I always look at this thread but never comment.
Your paintings are sweet, if I had a paypal or something I would probably buy the fox (seriously).
The amount of effort and the methods you use are great. I would have never thought to use melted chocolate to age the wood and it looks fantastic. The simple drawings work well, I think anything over complicated on such a small canvas would spoil the charm of it all.
My only criticisms would be to make sure to keep the same thickness of the lines all the way round. It doesn't look bad as it is now, don't get me wrong, I just think it would benefit from consistent lines.
I notice for the snake you make an effort to shade the top and the bottom, which makes the middle stand out, although just where they join together at the head they overlap which doesn't quite look right.
Since you're essentially using two colours I think it would be best if you chose colours that complement each other. An Orange would complement a Dark Blue or Red would complement Green. If you chose colours that made the image popped out I think it would be much more pleasing to look at than it already is ;]

I've been so busy the last two weeks I haven't had the time to work on art!

I love the bear and bunny ornaments.
Have you considered making ornaments of the Chinese zodiac? I think this style work work nicely for them.

I have had a crazy couple of weeks.
I've been working on starting plants for this years garden, sorting out legos(It takes it outa' ya) , I finally got this art thread organized, and to top it all off my PC got hacked!!!
But the good news is I've started working on art again and have some paintings and drawings I can post soon
In the meantime, here is some digital art I made using the base Ken Sugimori artwork, NFS5 and underground screen shots, and GIMP for light and shadows.
I plan on using these for some fake cards, the pics kind of feel like the gym set cards with the 3D backgrounds.
Feel free to let me know what you think
