Maybe they will put people in who where well known in the silver conference, like an ashes charizard or a Harrisons Houndour.
Personally I hope the HGSS set will cover Team Rocket pokémon again, as well as Rocket's Inventions (maybe even some reprints?), but maybe they'll drop the whole SP thingy with that new ''block'' of sets?
MY suggestions for Xs:
Meganium, Typhlosion, Fereligatr, Ho-Oh, Lugia, Tyranitar, Crobat, Blissey, Kingdra, Ampharos, Raikou, Entei, Suicune.
Yes, I know that that are 13 X's. Maybe spread out a few over some sets, but these are my guessings.

I think they will. Lugia lv.X would bring a lot of popularity, and the TCG lacks GSC cards. History says yes, so that's what we should go by for now.
yeah it will happen right after AA because HG/SS will come out september 12 so yeah. For sure, we are getting these x's:
Lugia, Ho-oh, Meganium, Typhlosion, Feraligatr, and then MAYBE: Raikou, Suicune, Entei, Scizor, Kingdra, Tyranitar, Ursaring.
The last few are all viable as all of those(barring ursaring, he is just a strong pokemon), are all tough and have been well recieved. Tyranitar and Kingdra especially, and the 3 dogs because its there generation.
Also, the 3 dogs are very likely as Arcticuno, Zapdos and Moltres all recieved there FIRST ex in Firered/Leafgreen set, so we are looking at a positive for the 3 dogs and then maybe a t-tar or kingdra. To summarize:

What about hitmontop Lv. X or Heracross Lv. X or maybe even Forretress Lv. X

I was looking at all the old cards aswell as current johto cards in D/P I was wondering what you guys think would be playable cards when the HG/SS Set came out
I think Entei and Suicune from Secret Woners could come in handy both of their Poke-boy/Powers are useful Entei discards 3 cards from your opponents deck and Suicune gets water energy faster.

i have no idea, mostly becuse i dont know what cards are going to be released and what they do.
I would love to see them bring back the Team Rocket set as they were the main bad guys in the Jhoto region and with that i hope they bring back Dark pokemon - low HP, but good attacks and nice effects =). Most likely lvX in my opinion would be

That would make the most sense, if you remember back to the first DP set the lvX's were the three starter pokemon final forms, however i could be wrong. if they're going to continue with the SP pokemon, then making all the gym leaders and elite 4 pokemon would be kind of cool. as there was meant to be a set like that realesed outside of japan for the jhoto era cards, but they never did.

I think that perhaps, because this is a new block, they might redo the card design and/or introduce something to replace Lv.X's. Anyways, really looking forward to this set.
IMO, Feraligatr, Meganium, Typhlosion, Lugia, and Ho-Oh are guaranteed to be Lv.Xs, unless they actually are making a big change with the block(like EX to DP). I think they might bring SPs back, since delta species had 4 sets, and so far SPs have only had 3 sets(AoA doesn't exactly count) and (outside of Japan anyway) they put a regular set in the middle of the 4 delta sets(Legend Maker in between Delta Species and Holon Phantoms) so I wouldn't be surprised if there was one set of SPs after AoA. If they do have SPs again, I guess they'd have Pokemon "R", for Rocket, and some cool examples could be Tyrannitar R Lv.X, Scizor R, Persian R Lv.X, Arbok R, etc. Also Team Rocket's Inventions for SPs and stuff.
EDIT: Ooh maybe even Legendary Dogs R Lv.X. I wouldn't be surprised, since there's been Rocket's Raikou Lv.X etc.

I don't think they should make a set just for the releases of the game
i think the new sets expand the different strategys maybe ? :S
Make a whole new series like diamond and pearl or make a new set like platinum because they made a set for fire red leaf green in the ex series.
