Found ya, dude! ^-^ And all yer stuff, it looks like.

Since most of the work you've done here is either older, or already commented-on/rated, I won't comment/rate any one piece of work. However, I do want to say that it's been very interesting to see how the level of your work has grown. And I totally recognized the cards you made for the contests on PCM, too, and I can definitely say that you've gotten much better, from when you started. This has been educational, really, since I haven't actually seen your work outside of PCM.

And, I know I said I wouldn't say anything about any specific work, but I totally have to say something about these: I think my favorite set of work you did was for MVX360's last PCM contest (last, since this post's date). Your card elements were all in the right place, from fonts to general component placement. Your technical language was solid (no non-TCG terminology or awkward wording). Your mechanics were creative, but true to TCG cards style/form (if they were to go into production, I don't see that anything would need to be changed at all, and they would've certainly added some new elements to the game). And the entire graphic layout, from card blank to fonts to the card's pic, for all three of those cards (except, perhaps, the Seviper, who was a bit blurry) was pretty crisp. The whole set just looked and felt very real-TCG-ish, but still unique to you. I guess that's one thing that makes or breaks a Pokemon card fake: the balance between the card's uniqueness, compared to TCG cards and other fake cards, and it's alignment with TCG standards. You've become skilled with holding that balance (which is like totally harder to do than some people might think).

So, well done, HoS. ^-^ I look forward to seeing more from you. Perhaps an entire, coordinated set of cards would be good idea, for future projects? I think that would be a real test of your talent--which you most definitely have. And of course, there's always new kinds of Pokemon cards to come up with (Lv.X, Ex, and Star Pokemon are gettin' kinda old now; Legends will go that way, too, eventually). ^_~ Anyway, it was great seein' all your work for the first time. This was kind of a blanket review, but I hope it was helpful, or at least encouraging.

Be seein' ya. Laters! ^_~

^_^ Yep, HoS has kept me posted on his work, so I'm not quite surprised on how much of an awesome job he's done. He's made a major improvement from when he first started off, and that just comes to show the determination of a card-maker. Friend, keep up the great work.

@Waterviper
Wow, thanks you firstly for the huge comment :)! Encouraging is right WV, it was totally encouraging. Thanks for all that praise. Glad to see my B/W cards had made you liking that far :). Also if you are looking for my project works the ongoing one is the "Ascending Allures" Set. Mini-Set actually featuring only 33 cards. I have so far finished the 1st one. Which is a Swampert ex. Yes, Delta, ex, Lv.X is going out of style. I have seen that. Still they do have that spice of the TCG feeling don't they? I have tried to create a new type of TCG mons called "Doomsday" Pokemon. Basically they are cards which need the help of a Stadium card to stay in play and mess up your opponent's game.

Here's the link to a Doomsday Pikachu :D

As I'm sorry to thank your wonderful comment with a short thank you post I must do so because I'm not a guy who is free always. Thank you again for that encouraging comment.

@MVX360
For 1 month 21 days I have been waiting till you post somewhere. I thought you will never do so. Thanks mate, I will keep it up :D

Here's the Swampert ex from my newest set guys.

swampert_ex___ascending_allure_by_heroofsinnoh-d34sm41.png

The water energy in the middle doesn't mean a thing. I put it there just for the showing off :p.

Also only 100 HP is there because the Poke-Body + the attack would make is harshly overpowered if around 120 HP was there.

Also, if in Swampert ex's Poke-Body if tails is flipped. Nothing should be done. I intentionally didn't describe it.

RE: HOS's Card Fakes * Swampert EX!! From Ascending Allures! 13/12*

No apostrophe in 'its'! Waagh!

But nice. Since you wanted a longer critique, I'll use up some of my valuable time looking at this...

5 MINS LATER

Hmm. Nice.

RE: HOS's Card Fakes * Swampert EX!! From Ascending Allures! 13/12*

@ Alvin and the Minezumis: Lol XD You goof, surely, in five whole minutes, you can dig up somethin' more. But, I'm guessing this is just you being you--and, nice to meetcha. ^-^

@HoS: Yeah, you're welcome. ^_~ And, I like the new Swampert. I don't like Ex Pokemon that much anymore, since the 2-prize penalty thingy can really kill you. It looks like Nintendo's tried to remedy that with the Legends, who have much higher health, for a card that functions like a Basic Pokemon card. But, they're not as fast, since you need both parts of the card to play it. :/ Anyway, just one major critique for Swampert Ex: I believe you "put" cards in the Lost Zone, not "discard" them there. Besides being technically correct, I think it would also be less awkward to word it thus: "If heads, put that card in the Lost Zone..."

RE: HOS's Card Fakes * Swampert EX!! From Ascending Allures! 13/12*

@Alvin
Thanks ... but next time ..
use a word other than "nice" ok?
Also, did I miss the apostrophe in "its"?

@Waterviper
Thank you very much :) Yes, I can correct it to your wordings however I will wait for some more comments from members in here and in Pokemon Acanthite. Sure, the Pokemon ex double prize thing kills you sometimes but if you play my card correctly ... 130 damage from Geyser Torrent is definitely possible. I mean, 5 trainer cards in the Lost Zone and voila ... you have your own rocket launcher with 130 damage. What I'm trying to say is that some EX Pokemon are worth the prize they pay. Also, LEGEND Pokemon was never my favorite due to the ... disarrangement of the text :(. Obviously the illustrations covered it fully though.

RE: HOS's Card Fakes * Swampert EX!! From Ascending Allures! 13/12*

@HoS: ...The discard pile? I thought your card got its power from Trainers in the Lost Zone lol. ^_~ Anyway, I know whatchu mean, dude, about Ex cards. I remember running the old Swampert Ex--the FTG version, with that nasty pumpable attack + sniper combo. I ran a 2/2 of that card along side the regular R/S Swampert, to charge Swampert Ex up. I loved that deck. But, I can do even better now, without the Ex cards, or even the Lv.X or Legend cards. I wish they'd bring back something with an attack like Suicune Ex or Aqua's Walrein had. If they ever do, I will like totally run that card with Fergi Prime.

But enough wishing lol. I can't wait to see your new set come together, as you make the cards for it. ^_~

Laters!

RE: HOS's Card Fakes * Swampert EX!! From Ascending Allures! 13/12*

Oh yes, Lost Zone *_* *fixed*
To tell the truth ... I have never played TCG after the EX series. Also, I didn't play competitively.
This explains why I have awkward wording. Team Aqua's Walrein. I have that card don't I? *Rummages through the card collection* Yes, got it.
Do you mean the "Hydro Reverse" attack? I must say, it's very unique indeed. I should create a effect like that. Also Suicune Ex .. I don't have that. So I'm going to google search it.

2 minutes later

Another attack effect similar to "Hydro Reverse". I'm seeing a pattern on how you like these attacks.

Yes, the next card would be a Flygon. Look at the set list on the bottom of the threads front post if you haven't seen it. I'm not making them in any order :)

RE: HOS's Card Fakes * Swampert EX!! From Ascending Allures! 13/12*

@HoS: Yep, yep--hydro reversal is the name of that metagame, dude. ^_~ In fact, it's so good--and so broken, with a card like Fergi Prime--I highly doubt Nintendo will make it again, unless they also create some good counters for it that will also counter other cards or create the stage for a different metagame entirely. I know Ampho Prime would hurt the Hydro Reversal metagame... So, maybe I take that all back: Fergi Prime + a Hydro-reversal dude isn't quite so broken afterall--just ALMOST broken lol. ^_~

Anyway, I look forward to the rest of your set, regardless of what Nintendo does (you make some cards better than them anyway, so ftw lol).

RE: HOS's Card Fakes * Swampert EX!! From Ascending Allures! 13/12*

New card everybody.
#10 of Ascending Allures. (not going in order btw)

flygon_from_ascending_allures_by_heroofsinnoh-d34uu0y.png

Now my friends. If this card reminds you of a sad Flygon leaving it's mountainous nest. I have successfully created what I intended to create.

I have no idea how the Pokemon Ability currently works. Whether it's like a Poke-body or power. I guess I'll have to wait till the wording on B/W cards become more clear.

RE: HOS's Card Fakes *Flygon from Ascending Allures 14/12/2010*

Hmm...

Nic... oh no wait, cool!

Ah, I'll look at this properly.

Very nice, the effect created by the illustration is indeed good, and I'm sure that that discard cards mechanic would become most useful.

RE: HOS's Card Fakes *Flygon from Ascending Allures 14/12/2010*

Great Flygon, friend. ^_^ Few corrections needed though based on wording. In the Pokemon Ability, the beginning should preferably be worded like this: "Once during your turn (before your attack), you may discard any number of [FTG] Energy cards attached to one of your Benched Pokemon..." It makes it sound more technically correct and is free of unneeded grammar errors. On a more power level basis, I believe the ability is balanced pretty well, since of course you aren't discarding freely from your deck (which would be pretty devastating if you have a lot of Energy to spare). Dragonbreath is a solid move with added creativity (not just the standard Paralysis and nothing more) posessing the discarding effect and a flip-a-coin mechanism. Based on a 5 star scale it would probably end up being somewhere in the mid 4-5 range, which is pretty outstanding.

RE: HOS's Card Fakes *Flygon from Ascending Allures 14/12/2010*

@Alvin.
You my friend, is a mental case. :p (kidding)
Thanks you :D

@MVX
Finally you seem to comment on my cards often now. :D. Yes, that seems like a notable mistake mate *fixed* Thanks for that extremely useful feedback mate. :D

RE: HOS's Card Fakes *Celebi ☆ - Ascending Allures 15/12*

Well here's the new card guys. Hope you'll like it. Celebi *
Waterviper suggested that I make a supporter and sniper for this but I made a Sniper only.
Sorry WV.

RE: HOS's Card Fakes *Celebi ☆ - Ascending Allures 15/12*

@Celebi: Oo Very nice. So, for the attack: during your opponent's next turn, you either place 4 damage counters [each] on 2 of his/her benched Poke, which you choose before your oponent's turn; or (if either of those Poke are taken out of play, for some reason), you do 50 damage to your opponent's current Active Poke.

Is that right? ^-^'

RE: HOS's Card Fakes *Celebi ☆ - Ascending Allures 15/12*

Beautiful. Only one criticism. 'Forgotton' is spelt 'Forgotten'.

After that, there is no more to say. One of your best.
