Pokemon How did you start playing pokemon?

I got a Gameboy Colour (green) for my third birthday, and I played Pokémon Red because my step-mother had it. My dad bought me a box full of Pokémon stuff, 'cause he found it cheap online (in the 1999's-2000's, don't ask how). Aaaand I got my Pokémon Blue for my fourth birthday, I think. Lost both Red and Blue at a cabin we rented, though. :I

I was like 8 years old when an older friend got Blue and I watched him play it. It was great. I liked the big amount of monsters and how they change upon evolution. Got a strategy guide for the games, mostly so I could look at all the pokemon whenever I want, but it came handy when my friend got lost in rocket hqs and such xD

I was surprised when I saw a magazine claiming there will be games with 100 new pokemon and then a year or so later played my own pokemon game for the first time, silver.

And it only went deeper from there I guess.

I was born in Japan (I'm not Japanese) around the time Pokémon first came out. My brothers were really into the show more than the games (my sister would watch the show now and then but didn't really crae for it). When we came back to America, Pokémon hadn't been out for a long time. My brothers were excited to see Pokémon here, in English. My oldest brother got Blue, and the other older brother got Red. So right around the time Yellow was around my brother let me play his Red Version. Now I have no idea how old I was, but I was very young (3-6).
Ever since then I've been playing Pokémon. My fondest memories of playing Pokémon was when I would play Gold Version on my brother's GBC. I wasn't as into it as my brothers were at the time but as they grew out of it I grew even more into it.

As for the TCG I have no idea, but it was early on, I think it was during the E-card series.

I had to go find my Pokémon Blue version.

Ahem...

Blastoise - Hydro Pump, Surf, Bubble Beam, Water Gun
Victreebel - Solar Beam, Razor Leaf, Mega Drain, Sleep Powder
Wigglytuff - Body Slam, Double Edge, Sing, Double Team (Not bad actually. Just should have put psychic over DE)
Articuno - Ice Beam, Blizzard, Fly, Peck
Zapdos - Thunder Bolt, Thunder, Drill Peck, Fly
Hypno - Dream Eater, Psychic, Headbutt, Hypnosis

So yeah. That's me at 6 or 7 in a nut shell. I actually think I'll fix that and start a new file.

I do remember now, I got Pokémon Red a month after Pokémon Blue I think.

I saw the episodes when I was about 5 years old or so. I feel in love with the series. That was then I began getting the toys, and started with Pokemon Red ;u; ah the memories~

Start over with the same team ! Only with better moves.

I first began to play pokemon few days after the anime came to israel. Me and all my friends in class had tcg cards. The funny thing is (and the sad ) we never played the tcg game because we were to little to understand english so all we did was to trade and play it all wrong.
also I remmember everyone started to play pokemon red and blue. I from some reason never heard of those games only after I played pokemon silver.. lol

I started with the TCG. A friend of mine at the time was into the game and he suggested I get some cards. Eventually I did, in the fall of '99 when I was attending a local town fair with my dad in a town I didn't know and went into a comic shop (I loved comics, too) that happened to sell the cards. I still remember the first cards I ever bought... a store-made "pack" for $1 that had a bunch of commons and some uncommons from Jungle (I remember I got a Cubone and a Bellsprout, but I'm not sure on the others) and then a single Charmeleon for $2. I got the Charmeleon because I remembered my friend talking about some "super awesome card" and I couldn't remember what it was called, but I knew it started with "Char". :p

My parents were kind of anti-video game when I was a kid, but I did start playing the games with Pokémon Yellow on a transparent purple Game Boy Colour. My aunt got both system and game for me in sekrit. :D I don't remember a lot about playing, but I do remember spending a lot of time gambling, and also having a hell of a hard time trying to figure out how to get into Saffron City. Stupid guard complaining about his thirst. >_>

I first started playing Pokemon when I would go over to my neighbor's house when I was 5. She had one of the games for like, the N64 or something. She was like, 9 or 10, but unbeknowst to me she had a mental disability. We would play every day after school, and I started getting into the anime. When I was in the third grade, I got a Game Boy SP with Pokemon Ruby, as did most of my friends (though they all had Sapphire, I was quite popular for trading). We were pretty casual about it, until the third grade when my current best friend moved to my town. He was really good at the games, and this was the year that Diamond and Pearl came out. He was the only one of my friends to ever beat me in a battle, and to this day we still hang out and play Pokemon Battle Revolution with our old Pokemon.

I bought Red version and started playing it.

There was literally no story involved in how I started playing.

In 2004 - when my grandma was making a deposit at the bank, and I was her interpreter. My uncle went along with us and waited in the waiting area. He found a Nintendo DS with 2 games inside (Mario 64 and Pokemon Fire Red). My first experience with the games.

I had Yellow and a Green Gameboy Colour, back when I was 4. I didn't get the package thing, so I was stuck in Viridian. All the older kids told me I needed a Level 100 Pikachu, so I trained till it was 100. This took me 3 years, then in 2002, I got Pokémon Silver and Gold.
