Actually I was doing by UK ebay and just converted it. So i'm not one also no need to be blunt you could of said I was wrong in a nicer tone. -_- Though i'm not wrong

Just because you find prices on Ebay, doesn't mean that's the actual value of a card. Someone could put a..heck, Tepig BW on Ebay for $999. Doesn't mean it's worth that much. I go by TrollandToad prices because generally when the price of a card on TrollandToad goes up, the price people are willing to pay for it also goes up.

It was not bin now it was aunction 6 bids

Auctions are even worse for determining card pricing.

RE: The ''How much is a card worth?'' topic.

The problem with pricing off eBay is:

1) Asking price does not equal selling price. A seller could ask $100 for something that sells for $20.
2) Selling price can be high because of a bidding war.

RE: The ''How much is a card worth?'' topic.

Ebay completed listings are far superior to Troll and Toad because Troll and Toad marks cards up so that they can make money. They are a company, and people that aren't a company sell for less, and that is a more realistic value as opposed to a company trying to make money.

True, but the cards need to sell so Troll and Toad can make money. If cards do not sell, they are in trouble.
There are people on eBay, who ask unrealistic prices and never sell cards.

For example 89/108 Haxorus on eBay is Buy it now from $1.20 to $4.99
Troll and Toad is $.49

RE: The ''How much is a card worth?'' topic.

Ok well completed listings and bidding proves how much someone would be willing to pay for the item. Troll and toad can put any price up you cannot determine the true value yes they may not put them up too high. People use different things to find out the price of an item I gave him a rough estimate it sold for just over £20 so that's like $34. Someone was willing to pay that so in their eyes that was the value. Everyone has different values which is a fact so I was right but clearly people on here just like to start an argument.

I also wanted to mention something else one of my friends on Youtube this rich sort of snobby kid has a Pokemon Illustrator he showed it on webcam on tinychat I wasn't on but 11 other people were they saw it and believe it is real. It is apparently Mint condition from what I knew there was only roughly 4-5 made not entirely sure. What are you thoughts on this I can get his youtube link and ask him to make a video by the way. He said he traded 4 mewtwo's for it.

Please do get a link to this video. I highly doubt he has a Pokemon Illustrator card, but if he does, and it is in Mint condition (or not), I know a handful of people who would gladly buy it off of him.

Actually, no. TrollandToad increases the value of a card the more people buy it, and decreases the value of a card if no one, or few people, buy it.

Every copy of the Illustrator is accounted for.

SMPratte knows the location of them all.

Ebay has sold several Darkrais for close to $40, whereas TnT has them for $60. Ebay has more realistic and better prices.

To be fair, you don't know how many TnT has sold at their $60 price.

I'd bet they're selling quite a few if TnT still has 'em up at $60. One thing that's great about TnT is the convenience. If you're looking for a card, they almost always have it available and often times at a great price if it's a newer card. Not to mention you can rack up store credit when selling bulk and then apply that towards something you really want. I'm not a huge fan of TnT but I sure am glad they're around. Dunno what I would do with my bulk if they weren't! :p

Roughly $30 the Japanese Lvx's are still popular cannot say the same for the english ones. Though 1st Edition doesn't change anything since virtually all Japanese cards are 1st Edition. Nice card to have though if you had the pair it would be even better would you consider trading it ?

okay Thanks :D

yeah I could trade it, it's on my trade thread currently....

RE: The ''How much is a card worth?'' topic.

I have a psa grade 9 japenese lance's charizard from the vs set. There wasn't a English card of this kind. How much would it be worth?

How many they have sold has no bearing on the fact that ebay has them for 1/3 cheaper. ebay offers them for a more fair price. I don't understand why anyone would buy from them unless the buyer had like 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 bulk.

for really expensive cards T&T doesn't seem to be the place to go, however, their prices on everything else are actually very good. also with ebay you don't know all the details about the seller, the condition of the card might not be as described, you can't always get what your looking for, you have to go in "bidding wars", and prices can very greatly (i.e some people sold darkrai for $100 back at his high point in price when he was only worth around $80 on T&T)

RE: The ''How much is a card worth?'' topic.

With that said, let us return discussion back to topic.
