Huge Money Making Opportunity?

I highly recommend you know what you're talking about before claiming something to be a scam.

Signing up through that link is like referring a member when you sign up for the forums. In doing so, Quibids gives out free bids for it. There's no scamming, tracking, or stealing involved.

i kinda do know what im talking about. how about you stop trying to get references by using this.

you rack up your little freebies by referring people. same thing as a pyramid scheme.

hmm, you get someone, they get someone, you get more, they get some. yea, same concept, same thing.

dont try to fool someone and get defensive because i called you guys out on it.

if it isnt a scam, show me links/news articles showing that its legit. give me the BBB link to it as well so i can see for myself if its legit. show me hard evidence it isnt a scam, when scams trick people into doing something in gain for you.

oh and btw, how about you look at how old someone is before you think i dont know something when ive seen this for more than a decade floating across the internet. it comes in many shapes and sizes and with different frills and bells. but in essence. its the same darn scam/pyramid scheme.

And it doesn't work like that. I don't get bids if people I referred get bids. It's a one-time thing for getting a friend to join. Again, please actually look into this before labeling it among others who have other, less chivalrous policies.

*Edit* Quibids is set up so that there is a 0% chance of risk, outside the minor shipping costs you have to pay.

If you spend 25$ in bids trying to buy a 25$ giftcard, they will give you the giftcard for free. (+ 2$ shipping) If you spend 12$ in bids and dont win, you pay the difference. (13$) I gain nothing from what they do after they sign up.

fairly new to bbb. hmm, that doesnt look well on that company. well, to those naive enough to fall for this, ill let you all learn from experience.

almost 700 bad... doesnt look too well for something barely a year old

I ask you please point out what you find wrong with the business, as if there is something you know that I don't, it would benefit us all to explain.

I was signing up and saw it takes credit card, and $60 to sign up.

Is there a way to get around this?

There went my interest... $60 to get signed up to bid on something??
Nopers..

Some things I came up when investigating and searching for "quibids review" on Google

From this article

So is QuiBids a Scam?

All penny auctions, regardless of reputation, are a bad idea and should be avoided.

First of all, QuiBids.com and other penny auction sites require people to pay for the option to bid, but don’t allow them to bid in increments of their choosing. This means that QuiBids is forcing the price up and profiting all the while.
On eBay, the seller and buyer have the auction monitored by the website, which is the trusted third party. On QuiBids.com, there is no trusted third party. QuiBids is the seller and the auctioneer. It works in their favor – and their favor only – to drive the price up in these small 1 or 2 cent increments.

This one has multiple opinions from users and a comment from someone claiming to be an employee..

I'll stick with ebay, I have been a member there since 1998 and have NEVER had a problem with them.

Basically, it is like a casino game. If a site like this existed in Finland, I might try it. I don't want to loose my money and then win once just so I have to pay huge shipping costs etc. :p But good luck for you guys who decide to try it.
PS: JaySee said it's a referrer link so don't complain about it, r3skyline. o_O You can cut the refferer code away if you don't want to give him free bids. :p

The reason people think it's a scam is because you can waste money bidding.

You can lose money on the site however if you follow proper guidelines you won't.

Just as Danny said, if you are dedicated and persistent, Quibids provides an opportunity to make money, guaranteed.

By bidding correctly and knowing what you are doing, it will turn out well. If you waste your first 100 bids, you will be unhappy.

My not bidding for the big stuff, you'll do well.

It is not gambling.

Exactly. If you are foolish and reckless with bidding you will waste money. If you bid smartly and use strategies which i can relay, you'll do well.

When you bid on eBay you don't lose anything. To bid on sites like these is kind of silly. You have to buy bids. You're buying the ability to get something. You never buy the product, you buy for the chance to get a product. That's got to be in the dictionary under the word 'sketchy'.

People do stupid crap with their money. People will spend real world money to get imaginary items in MMOs. It's your $$$ and you can do what you want with it, but that doesn't excuse a person from the fact that it's silly and sometimes irresponsible. Sketches and scumbags count on people, young people, to be careless and stupid with their money -and unfortunately they are making a mint.

I don't think people are understanding that buying bids is no different than buying something retail if you chose to do so.

Say you want to buy an Ipad. You could buy it retail for 500, or, buy it with Quibids with a 90% + chance to get it at a fraction of retail price.

Even if you don't get it really cheap, the 500$ you spent on bids goes to buying the ipad, so you get it anyway.

Basically, Quibids is selling for retail with a high chance to get things even cheaper.

OK. I've been reading the comments and I think I figure it out. The site buys the product. The site then gives you a chance to purchase bids for their product. You pay $0.60 for every "penny" you bid on their product. Three people then bid one "penny" on the product giving the site $1.80. Then the auction concludes to someone bidding at the final price of $2.00. That's 200 bids of a "penny." That's 200x0.60 which comes out to $120. The site then sells the product to the winner for $2.00. Thus they gain $122 for an item they probably bought in bulk which they gain money. Sure, you got the product for $2.00+0.60(x), which X=the amount of times you bid, but the site got a lot more out of it than you did. Seems not legit to me =/

It the site isn't making money, then why start it up? Ebay also takes commission which means it's trying to make money as well.. So Ebay is not legit?

Seems not legit because the site is trying to make money? I don't understand your logic.

It's the whole fact that they are just making a ton of money off you. You buy a chance to bid on an item that you may get and if you don't get it, you lose money. While on ebay, you just bid and if you don't get the item, all you lose is time. How does this seem legit?

Ebay isn't the ones selling the stuff. They are way more legit than this site. It's not worth it. All I am pointing out is the fact that you spend money to maybe get an item. That is what isn't legit.

OMG, THE SITE PROFITS? Seems not legit to me now, either!
Now thinking of it, Walmart doesn't seem legit too. Watch out people, all shops are a scam!

This is not ebay. This is not an auction site. This is inspired by auctions. This is a game/shop fusion just called penny-auction. Get over it, seriously.
You buy virtual money and try to win. You can buy normally too, and it seems like if you bid and loose you can use the money you used to bid to buy it. Seems very fair to me. Sure, the site still profits that way, just like any other shop. You just have the option to play for it first.

I don't understand your logic, Snorlax.

If you end up spending $50 on a $100 item, you are given the option to use those bids toward buying the item for retail, and you would pay $50 in bids, + $50 in extra compensation, to buy the item.

You CAN'T lose money!

I do see y'all can't comprehend what I'm getting at. It's one thing to go into Walmart and buy a game, but it's another thing to go on this site to spend money to maybe get the item. I guess my way of thinking isn't the same as the way most of you kids on here think. I try to see things more logically. Why would I want to spend money to maybe get an item? I'd rather just go to the store to get the thing for sure. I just don't like the fact the the site is actually making so much profit off people. It's not legit in my eyes. But hey, if you want to spend your money to maybe get an item go to the site. I was simply voicing my opinion and trying to point out how the site actually works, which I'm allowed to do. This site, you spend $0.60 to get a virtual $0.01 to use to bid on an item. So, you spend $60 for a full dollar. Seems worth it to y'all, but not to me. You can go to this site if you want, I wasn't telling people not to. I was saying that it didn't seem legit to my views so that I wasn't going to use it.

so you cant lose money eh?

what happens if you DONT win the AUCTION (teal). do you get your money back? or do you just lose it?

so if you dont get it back. its gambling.

btw, these are auctions. you bid, its an auction. quit trying to say its not teal. its an auction site. geez, get over it, seriously.
