Hurricane Irene

What's Katrina? Oh wait. Ka - Tree - Na. I thought it read something else.

I only have moderate to heavy rain and slightly harsh wind where I live. (near Bronx)

But I read that I'll get more around 2:00pm.

Note to everyone: Do not Kayak in hurricane weather.
I just read a news story on Yahoo! about how the hurricane was effecting NYC, and it said that two kayakers had capsized and had to be rescued.

Everything's fine here too. A few small branches and a lot of wet leaves are on the ground though. Very messy.

By the way, it's a Tropical Storm now, not a hurricane.

It went just past where I live (NoVa) last night. No realy damage to speak of, just a bunch of leaves and small branches on the ground.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but pretty much all of the people who have died due to the hurricane have died because of falling trees. Just an interesting tidbit.

Had no power for 12 hours, and my basement flooded

Gotta love irene

They were from where I live too -.-

Oh no, no power for a whole twelve hours?! How did you survive?! Were you forced to eat your cat?! You must have been bored enough to want to kill yourself! Seriously, I had no power for over two weeks after Hurricane Ike and I survived just fine.

My house still had power throughout, but our basement was severely flooded. It took me and my dad 8 hours to pump all the water out (from 5am to 1pm).

Actually, yes, I did eat my cat. Very delicious

But in all seriousness, it wasn't bad, kinda hot, but otherwise fine.

Took my parents 4 hours to get the water out of our basement.

We haven't had anything but crazy winds up in Toronto. Don't know when the ETA (if ever) will be.

It honestly wasn't even that bad. Some flooding and damage, but rather weak. It was basically a Severe Thunder storm.

Compared to like Katrina, this wasn't that bad. Media was probably hyping it for more, well, media, and the government was hyping it so that if it really was bad they wouldn't get blamed. (which is what happened in katrina .-.) But better to be safe then sorry, and the Hurricane did really hit some places hard, but for the most part it was fine.

Where i live it just rained alot and there was a lot of wind, down the block i tree came down and is laying by the sidewalk, a tree came down in my backyard, if it went another way it would have crushed my pool, but it didn't
