I'd like to pop in and say something.

This fellow here indirectly brought up a really good point - though whether or not he realized it, I do not know.
Why don't regular members have some sort of say in forum decisions? This stuff isn't just a minor alteration or two - these announced changes are groundbreaking stuff. And this stuff basically gets jumped on us whereas we meanwhile have to take it.

Don't we have any say anymore in how we would like the forum run?

Everyone has a say. If you present logical arguments that support your reasoning, then go ahead and let them be known.

And what if some of the games aren't pointless? I know most of them are, but what about RPs? Please tell me why you're implying that RPs are pointless.

Apparently, we do, just not in the way we want to have it as outlined here:

There is something a member can do, that's the part you guys aren't getting. Get involved. Pitch ideas to me. Lets make this site better. Forum games are not going to make the site better, but maybe your idea for a community tournament will. I am all ears. We need to move on and focus on things that are related to what this site is about. If we were all about games then we should become GameyBeach and talk about how to effectively rate my sig and build a chain to 50. Oh c'mon, wouldn't that be grand?

Oh. What about the RPGs through? They're fun games that anyone can join! (have to PM, through.) We get rid of the regular games, and hold the RPGs!

What do you think? And oh, they're not stupid.
RPGs are unintelligent for the most part. There is rarely a strong plot through the game and more people are there to mess around than to advance any sort of a plot. "they're not stupid" does not prove to us that they are not stupid... it is a bald assertion and was not supported by evidence. >.< If you want to RPG, go to an RPG server on WoW or Ragnarok or something like that...

Yeah, you do. If you talk to the Super Mods any one of us will hear you out. Even a regular mod can pass a word to us and let us know what you like/dislike or your opinion. There is also Website Feedback. Speak up to us with a serious proposal if you want to make a difference, it's simple. We do consider each suggestion and take it into account when making decisions. I will say though, in this case we felt this stuff needed to happen. We will accept feedback on it, but the plan for the most part will stay the same.

Like I've said, now verified by SR, this really isn't going to change. They're going to axe games and more, leaving a few to see the end of it.

No point in complaining, it's not changing,

Like I said... I may allow Werewolf and/or an RPG, but that is it.

Just nuke the YPPYs in general then.

I'm just concerned as to how you guys will keep the attention of the younger ones who are more casual in TCG/VG and want to join PB as a community rather than part of the competitive? Is it that it's you guys are shifting the "member base" of the forums from casual-kids to more competitive people?

Why doesn't WPM say something? Please, people, stop posting here, because I don't want to hear arguements of how much you love the games. Just leave it alone, or you'll soon be warned and possibly banned if we keep on like this. I don't want to have to report everyone who is mean.

Please, this isn't a evil thread, it's just a thread that makes us mean. Wouldn't you just stop arguing for a while and think of what you've done? ~Lucky

No one is forcing anyone to stay on this website. You all joined because you like Pokemon. You didn't join for the pointless forum games. If for some reason you like forum games more than Pokemon, go somewhere else.

It's not difficult to understand, and this is a necessary change that has to happen in order for this website to move forward.

@Deric, the plan is to attempt to draw in more competitive players and teach our more casual playerbase to become more competitive.

If you find the game corner to be fun, go somewhere else. The majority of the threads were spammy and pointless. Now then, if you find intelligent discussion to advance the community fun, stay right here. That being said, we will have a few intelligent and fun games remaining... just not all of them. We will be reducing the PB population without a doubt, but it will only keep the ones who care about TCG and VGC... the other stuff is unimportant in the grand scheme of things. Get that into your heads people. Now then, if we remove ALL games (especially the legit ones) I will be the first one to PM Shining Raikou a few hundred times as I will be upset with that change.

WPM does front page content... he could care less about forums. Simple truth. We've thought over what is going on many times before... we had many opinions going into this change, and the decision was fairly obvious. If you really want to play mindless games, GO SOMEWHERE FRICKIN ELSE. If you want to help the TCG/VGC community or improve yourself, stay right here as that is what the forums are all about.

All right then. I believe that every claim deserves a fair shake, and so I'd like to argue a case for keeping the PB Groups forum around. (Just that one. I am mostly impartial to the rest of the announcements.)

Shall I post it here in the thread or do you want me to PM it to you?

Saying it once again, staples like Werewolf will remain. Maybe an official RPG to join if someone pitches a really good idea for one.

Please define what you mean by "staples". Exactly what qualifies as a staple?

You can post it here if you want. But just so you know, groups aren't really going away. For the most part you will still be able to discuss things you want in Off-Topic, and you won't have the regulations like the groups forum has.

Pretty much this.

The only reason this will be happening is to make sure we have people who care about the TCG and VGC. Instead of being known as a site that doesn't have good TCG/VGC players, we want to be known as a site where people can come and get help with those things. The Game Corner is only attracting n00bs who don't know what they are doing when it comes to TCG/VCG.

A game that involves intelligent thought and discussion. One that has a respectable leader that knows how to lead a group towards an end goal. Nothing mindless...

Like [thread]Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Light Pokemon Attack![/thread]? Maybe we could keep all the RPGs... But seriously, people, stop arguing.

Yet, when everyone says "staple", it means Werewolf.

I'll be the first to say that there are plenty of good games that involve intelligent thought and discussion (The Challenge, Big Brother, Mafia).

This is one reason why I support the changes. Stuff like "The Champions" or "The Smashers" can be discussed in their appropriate places, while "Team D" and "Team C" can easily be combined into a huge group discussion in competitive VG.

Arguing gets things done. Kids need to realize this. Arguing helps convince people about certain things... Arguing is for the best when a major change comes

Your game is unclear as to its plot and the original was not as popular nor as active as others. It was not as flowing as it could have been, so I would rule no. You'll most likely have to submit you game before it gets approved, so we will have a list of things that must happen to get a game approved.

Werewolf style games are the most intelligent by default, but having clones is also bad for the forum. A well run RPG can be intelligent, but only one that is very well run. If there are similar games submitted, the better one will be allowed...
