Title says all. Mine was Gen 3 My Cartridge came in a pack, along with FR and Red Rescue Team, I originally focused on Red Rescue Team, but after awhile I got tired of the Dungeon exploring. So I decided to start playing Emerald, after seeing how the story of the legendary trio went, I got addicted.
 
1st. got my charmeleon card in the nintendo power. got a starter deck as soon as I could afford it, started watching the cartoon @ episode 3. ::feels old::
 
Why, it must have been 2/3 time when I first got into it. I read one of those books, and loved the concept of it. I remember slipping in and out of Poké-craze periods, and I became a huge fan just as I moved to England. That was about the release time of Diamond and Pearl. I then stayed faithful until just after the release of Platinum, then went out of the franchise for a while. I got back into it at the turn of '09, and finally got a DS and my first game (SoulSilver) April time! Since then, I've been loyally soldiering on! So I couldn't say for sure which Gen I joined in!
 
I was introduced in generation 4. My 1st game was Platinum:D
But I wish I could have started with the 1st generation.
 
I was introduced during Gen 3. I was getting a game boy advance and my parents said I could get a game with it. I took Pokemon Emerald, just cause rayquaza looked awesome. Here I am today, Gen 5 baby. That was the best decision of my life

I started on Gen.1, and then I went off of it until Gen.3, when my brother got Sapphire, and got back into it majorly in Gen.4.
 
Is anybody else gen 2? I got into it with gen 2. Gold was the first video game I ever got. It's still my favorite :)
 
gen 1 with the anime and then the TCG. I knew about the games but I only had the chance to actually play one on gen 3 with Sapphire (by ROM) but then, I got out for some years. I came back in the early beginning of gen 4 and maybe that's the reason why it is my favorite gen. And I don't pretend to quit pokémon anymore even despite the fact that gen 5 was kinda bittersweet to me...
 
I started Pokemon in the very beginning of the third gen, just when Ruby came out. I kind of stopped playing for a while, but a friend introduced me to Shoddy, and when I started owning him after a day of laddering, I knew I had to make a Smogon account which I did sometime in 09. Since then, I've been playing pretty much every game since gen 1 on emulators.
 
TCG? Generation 1. RPG? Generation 3. Woot.
I guess I was sort of into Pokemon when it first came out, and I eventually got out of it a little while after generation two, and I suppose I was sucked back in when generation 3 came out :33
 
Gen I - 1999

Articuno was my fave. Still ranks as my fave ice type even today.
 
I was first introduced in generation 3.My grandmothers friend brought me fire red and a new gameboy.So yeah,I only had FR for only a week before I lost it.
 
In 1998, when the Base Set (TCG) had just been released. I was 7 at the time and got the Hitmonchan starter deck.
And look how far I've come!
