I know what you mean. But it's really not about the banner, it's about the sprites. If the sprites are good you will do fine.
I don't have photoshop either, but I'm competing against tons of people in Project Custom that do. You just have to work with what you have=]

Well I didn't want this entry hanging over my head, Project Custom is really taking its toll!! Since theres not a whole lot you can do with just 4 images and a background but I am overall pleased! Here it is! The original background wer stars and then I just added effect after effect after effect and here is the result! Hope you like it!

CRAP! Seriosly, school sucks... Today I had 2 tests and lots of homework due so thats all I did yesterday and today here is how it went
Home at 3, 30 min TV, Study till 4:30, eat, go to v ball practice (try outs next week), come home at 8:30, study while watching lost, about to shower now...

Man do I know how you feel! Our Math teacher suddenly decides to teach us this homework that no body understands and did I mention there are 50 questions. Plus 2 tests, 3 projects. Project Custom of course! Oh and Baseball tryouts are coming up! Gah I'm busy. oh did I mention I leave for England in a week for a trip with school Ya busy is my middle name I'm sure INFERNAPE will understand just get it in soon!

Ok guys it is definantly NOT my best work... But I tried to stick to a theme of how Aipomb is riding on Tortaqua (he gots bannanas!) and the horsea/sharpedo kmon then the crazy fusion flying overhead. I was planning on adding an anamation but it would take more than the 15 mins I have left... so here it is
I used an overworld thing for the sea try to make it look game like. I used some weird font on photoshop. Also you may notice something strange around the water contacts, supposted to be water displacment, my first use of the blur tool, I dont expect to win this round...
