Is Delcatty (PL) Needed in MewPerior?

Is Delcatty Needed?

Starting with mew and 6 energy in hand? How is that a bad thing? For one, if mew goes 2nd the top deck with the correct build will be a support or a basic. See off after the supporter. Then let the fun begin. Those that discredit this concept might not be ready for the changes in the game that are coming.

BTW p8ntchucker7, love the banner!

I have never played with the deck, but I have played against it, and it really does not need it. It can already shell out a huge amount of damage on it's own, and you'd be better off taking out the fake consitency (Delcatty) and replace it with some REAL consistency (more energy).

Wouldn’t more Pokemon for Communication be real consistancy? I’d personally take out three cards for a 1-2 Delcatty because I would like the ability to play it. 35 energy is just stupid, but 32 is less stupid.

Delcatty is THE way to play it. 100 consistently EVERY turn is much more than hoping to hit the energy when you need it.

I have a very disruptive MewPerior, and it's very effective.
4 Mew Prime
2 Rhyperior Lv.X
2 Smeargle UD
2 Uxie LA
1 Unown Q
1 Mesprit LA
2-2 Delcatty PL
1 Dialga PL
1 Giratina PL
1-1 Drifblim UD (Dialga/M2 Counter..)
20

4 Collector
4 Seeker
3 Judge
3 Pokemon Reversal
2 Communication
1 Luxury Ball
17

13 Psychic
4 Rescue
3 Call
2 Warp
2 Double Colourless
21

I usually hit 100+ every turn starting turn 2-3
With Seeker, Mesprit, Judge, and Giratina they have a VERY hard time getting set-up at all.

In the opinion of a kinda-retired player, I think this debate is equivalent to Flamethrower X Fire Blast (accuracy x power) which is common in Pokémon. What's the solution in this case? Player's preference. It's the same thing here; there are people who prefer full speed and offense, and will go for Energy Returner and lots of energies, while other people would rather use Delcatty to get a more consistent damage output, even though this requires measures to get Delcatty in play and so on. Each has its pros and cons, but I don't think one is necessarily superior to the other. It depends on who's using it.

I do not believe that Delcatty is needed. I run a build with no Delcatty and it runs great
