June's XY3 Set Announced: 'Rising Fist' + 'Mega Lucario Box' [3/24]

It's obviously because Drohn'll have left Japan by the time it came out if it was released in July ;o
I didn't actually notice. It'll just be the new trend I think.

That is a good point D: Do you think/know if they will give out promos for this set too??

I'm assuming so, they usually do. I'm getting at least a box, probably 2, and 2 of those Storage Boxes :p Hoping that there is a promo.

So I guess this will be the new trend for Japan.

Well, that makes it similar to English, just a month's difference in terms of release times. Now I can't wait to see what Mega Lucario EX will do Dx I hope it'll have some sort of high-damage attack, though. A decently playable Mega would be nice.

Here would be my guess of what megas that they would put in to Rising Fist:
Pokemon that received mega evolutions:
B̶l̶a̶s̶t̶o̶i̶s̶e̶
C̶h̶a̶r̶i̶z̶a̶r̶d̶ ̶(̶x̶)̶
C̶h̶a̶r̶i̶z̶a̶r̶d̶ ̶(̶y̶)̶
V̶e̶n̶a̶s̶a̶u̶r̶
T̶o̶x̶i̶c̶r̶o̶a̶k̶
M̶a̶g̶n̶e̶z̶o̶n̶e̶
K̶a̶n̶g̶a̶s̶k̶h̶a̶n̶
Alakazam
Gengar
Pinsir
Gyrados
Aerodactyl
Mewtwo (x)
Mewtwo (y)
Ampharos
Scizor
Heracross
Houndoom
Tyranitar
Blaziken
Gardevoir
Mawile
Aggron
Medicham
Manectric
Banette
Absol
Latias
Latios
Garchomp
Lucario
Abomasnow
Given that we have only gotten those as mega evolutions that would be all that could be in the set. However, these are the only ones that are fighting type:
Lucario (Which will be in the set. For sure.)
Medicham (Seems likely for it to be in the set. Likely.)
Blaziken (Given that it was not in the "fire" set, I would assume it would be put in the "fighting set," if the Pokemon Laboratory has the intention of splitting the sets up into types. Likely)
Heracross (May go in, but personally when I think of Heracross, I think about it as a bug type first, then a fighting type, so I would be surprised if it were put into this set, if it really is a fighting set, over putting it into the grass set. Doubtful.)
Mewtwo (x) (I would be very surprised if they put this into this set. Mewtwo is a very iconic Pokemon, and if the Pokemon laboratory decided to put it in as a secondary part of a set, that would definitely surprise me. Extremely doubtful.)
I would think that they would put Medacham, Blaziken, and Lucario in, along with another random mega evolution. Keep in mind that most of this is just my opinion based on what I have seen.

If Blaziken were in the set, I think they'd have said so right off the bat. He's one of the A-list Mega Pokemon. If they do go with another Fighting type mega, it'll probably be something minor like Aerodactyl. (speaking of which, this will probably be the set where we get the XY fossils, so it would fit thematically)

Although Wild Blaze only had one fire type mega and two non-fire mega Pokemon, so we might just get Lucario + two random mega Pokemon nobody cares about.

Tash. you might want to factor in the idea that Mega Ampharos is Electric and Dragon. I would be surprised if they didn't make two of them, one for each element.

I suspect this set will give us one of each form of Kalos Pokemon (possibly excluding Diancie unless Cocoon of Destruction somehow premieres over the summer and the other two 'unrevealed' Pokemon). Time for some of us to start wondering if we're going to get alternate types of Pokemon now...I'm looking at you Dark Greninja, bring on the other starter alternates...and make others follow ;).

I'm so pumped!

Hey! That's my line!

As a fighting buff myself, I'll probably feel quite gratified with this set, regardless of the dinky details ^.==.^.

We've been seeing quite a few completely not-legendary Pokémon get the EX facial, though. Wonder if we'll see Machamp EX or something.

Hoo, hah!

Talking 'bout Blaziken... It would be awesome to release a double type card with double resist and double weakness, so double type of attack. It forces to plays rainbows and stuff.

I just cant wait to mega-garchomp as long as the first ex card is pure crap.

This for when?
Evo stone (tool).
If you attach this card to one of your pokemon, it can mega without loosing his turn).

(just kidding).

Hopefully this set has the last few non-Event Kalos Pokemon who still need to debut in the TCG (fossils, Pangoro, Clawitzer, Hawlucha, Klekfi and Zygarde), as well as a whole bunch of older Pokemon who haven't appeared since Gen IV, with Krabby, Clamperl and Zigzagoon being the whole evolutionary lines who have not been seen the longest.

Special fighting energy will maybe work like how the move Close combat works. You will perhaps be able to do more damage with it but will also be on the receiving end of more damage as well.

But I "STILL" NEED my Suicune Ex Full-Art... :'(
It's Blastoise in the Gym sets all over again. They hate Water-types because they're the best. They have to give the limelight to the lesser types or they get no attention (see: Fire and Fighting).

:p

I would say you're right on the money in that the last non-event Kalos Pokémon are sure to make their introduction in this set; 7 of the 9 remaining Pokémon you mentioned could be Fighting-type in the TCG (the fossils, Pangoro, Hawlucha, and Zygarde) anyway.

I'm awaiting their release in hopes we get non-5ban Kalos Pokémon artwork after each has an existing card.

I don't think there's gonna be any more fighting type EXes other than Lucario and Hawlaunca tbh. Wild blaze only had Charizard (okay, a lot of Charizards but still xD) and Dark Rush only had Darkrai EX. We might get a nice non-EX fighting type Pokémon thought. I'm sure they gonna include 1-2 more Mega's thought.

Tbh, I'm not so excited for this set, never been a fan of Lucario. Kinda hope I don't like their other EX choices in this set so I can buy more Wild blaze/Flash Fire stuff xD

I know how you feel ;.;
I'm glad they didn't skip Entei, but poor Suicune was left out. A LOT.

And of course the Binacle and Greninja promos as well. It's not much but it is something :)

I am curious if the new Special Energy cards could be used to help differentiate the "sub-Types" that correspond to video game Types... but am otherwise leery of them. Darkness Energy and Metal Energy began life as Special Energy cards, and this proved very difficult to balance. Most of the "problem" cards weren't overpowered by the bonuses, but rather the opposite; they were designed with said bonuses in mind and so quite often were a bit underpowered.

Unless they were cards like Neo Genesis Sneasel which was simply overpowered to begin with, Darkness Energy damage bonus for not. Most of the rest... not so much. As for what bonus we could see on a Special Fighting Energy... please not ignoring Resistance. Unless the TCG does something that makes Resistance pertinent again, its almost certainly to be a wasted mechanic.
