All pokemon will evolve at ranks 3 and 5. Pokemon that evolve via trading simply evolve early. If you wish to evolve pokemon that evolve by being traded while holding an item early, then yes, you will also need the item.

Another note, it says "first come first serve" for adoption shelter, but was changed due to timezones and whatnot... I just never fixed it for whatever reason. When you want to buy one of the pokemon, you'll simply need to outbid the person who is currently willing to pay the most (by 500).

The adoption shelter had been cleared out... The market ransacked... Oh well! As the sun began to rise, the market buildings and their owner disappeared, and the kingdoms were back to their squabbles.

I recommend to everyone to use their challenge (I don't get why some people didn't use theirs on Day 1). It will be difficult to keep up with me if you guys don't battle each other and gain ranks. ;)

(Also feel free to challenge me if you're up for it.)
