Rikko: I don't mind. It's interesting to know.
Currently, I am deciding between KyuGatr and CaKE. I think CaKE is fast and pretty consistent, but a just played a KyuGatr with my ZPST and I won on cards, not prizes, and they were ahead.
Here's why I may run KyuGatr over CaKE; KyuGatr has more ways to do damage. I played a KyuGatr with DCL and Rainbow energy, and it was a good tech. Suggestions/Playability?
I have a standard Kyugatr with 2 SEL for Cobalion. It's got some great matchups and something people seem to forget is Feraligatr, with 2 turns of Kyurem spread, becomes a 120 damage-dealing beast. Depending on your T/S/S line, you can have a consistent T2 Gatr and spread before your opponent can even get set up. If they do and have an annoying High HP Bench sitter (aka Vileplume/Typhlosion) or (worse!) a Chansey, you can switch to SEL for the Snipe KO.
As for techs I would recommend, based on experience:
-SEL over Benchtini for metal matchups, because there's so few Pokémon run in KyureGatr (8 basics total including Cleffa in my list). So the odds of having a full bench are less than ideal. Plus, again, the snipe capability is amazing.
-Bad Gatr CAN be played (Spinning Tail spreads for 20 and his second attack OHKOs Emboar) but after heavy playtesting I always found him unnecessary, as he is just a worse Kyurem. originally ran a 3-2-2-1 (a la the Emboar line in Reshiboar) but changed to a 3-2-3 Prime line for consistency
-DCL, through Tyranitar experience, is more gimmicky than consistent. Once you move the damage around to score multiple KOs, you've got a high-retreat Pokémon active with no other (good) way to attack, and if he gets KO'd you lose 2 prizes.
-Jirachi, however, IS a good play. It means the difference between having to spread 5 turns in a row to kill Typhlosion/Magnezone, and having to spread 2/3 turns in a row
-Similarly, Shaymin is a good play because your Gatrs will get Catchered up constantly as will any energyless Kyurems to stall your spread. So you can just search out your shaymin, play it and make your opponent mad that he wasted a catcher like that
No experience with CaKE, but I can only imagine how inconsistent it is... :O
