I completely get what your saying and I can't agree more, avalanche3387 !
And even more with my kids than you can imagine!
Our two boys are autistic gifted kids who can't go to school, so they go not only because they love Pokemon but also to socialise.
Off course they go to sports e.g. too, but they almost never belong to the group.
The problem at the moment is, they often get teased for being different.
At the moment they're very happy to get accepted in the Pokemon group, but lately their sad that the kids tease them for always losing.
You can imagine how happy they were getting those mega ex cards!
That's why they wanted to build decks with them and that's why I asked for a little help how to do that. ;-)
Not to get to go to the world championship and become first and second place, but just to also win once and a while.
If that can be done with the (trainer) cards we have.... even better!
If I have to spend some money to do that, I will.
(But buying 7 EX cards wasn't part of the plan. ;-) )
Just so the other kids accept them as equal and not "the stupid different kids that always lose"
But please not the kids with the expensive cards who always win either.
Just a little help for them to make it a little easier to get friends.
