It's actually really terrible, you don't even want to know about the Chinese gymnasts.

Team GB, unbelievable. 3 Golds in an hour. First ever Gold in 10,000 meters. Why am I so interested in this?
iceman345 said:That was a terrible referee, but on BOTH sides of the ball. You say Wambach has no class, then how do you feel about Tancredi stomping on Carli Lloyd's head. Tancredi committed at least 7 fouls and SHOULD have been red carded out of the game, she only received a yellow card. Would you prefer having a one goal lead on the US and playing the rest of the game with 10 players, or having to deal with a rarely called, yet still punishable, foul on Canada's goalkeeper? I don't want to start anything here, but to say that the ref was biased towards one side or the other is just silly.
iceman345 said:From what I've read the only thing Wambach did was count, albeit screaming, the number of seconds the goalkeeper held onto the ball. I've also read that the keeper was warned that she was holding on to long and to cut it out. I definitely would rather have had the game end on a less controversial note. Though I have complete faith that the game still would've ended with the same score. The US seems to always come from behind to win games in the most craziest of circumstances, that may sound biased, but, what can I say, I love my countries soccer teams.
iceman345 said:Ok, I read those articles right after the game had ended and can no longer find them. So, maybe the goalkeeper wasn't warned and that could be attributed to the awful ref. But, I can't deny that Canada was playing an amazing game. But, they seemed to stop right after that call was made. Had they played as hard during extra time as the did during regulation time, then they very easily could be playing in the Gold Medal match instead of the US. As for Wambach's screaming, in a point in a match where every second matters, I would be screaming too if the opposing team's goalkeeper was wasting time. I'm sure every soccer player out there would say the same thing.
