It's actually really terrible, you don't even want to know about the Chinese gymnasts.

Yes I found the Chinese gymnast story to be EXTREMELY depressing.

C'mon Aussie, c'mon, c'mon
C'mon Aussie. c'mon, c'mon

Since my country won't win any medal ever,I'm going to support Kazakistan,4 gold metal and 9th before Japan,Russia and Australia!
EDIT:India(Population=Over 1,000,000) has won only 2 medals(neither gold) since now

14 Gold
7 Silver
8 Bronze

Team GB, unbelievable. 3 Golds in an hour. First ever Gold in 10,000 meters. Why am I so interested in this?

haha, Don't underestimate us british.

Surprised that Kayla Maroney couldn't pull through and get a gold on Vault -- all we heard was how she's currently by far the world's best in Vault. Gotta feel sorry for her.

Amazing to see Sally Pearson win the Hurdles event!
She is such an inspiration to everybody home in Australia!

That was the worst soccer match ever! Canada clearly beat the USA despite being the BIG underdogs! That referee was terrible and Abby Wombach has no class and shows no sportsmanship. Canada outplayed them and deserved the win and it was taken away from them, because of a terrible referee.:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

That was a terrible referee, but on BOTH sides of the ball. You say Wambach has no class, then how do you feel about Tancredi stomping on Carli Lloyd's head. Tancredi committed at least 7 fouls and SHOULD have been red carded out of the game, she only received a yellow card. Would you prefer having a one goal lead on the US and playing the rest of the game with 10 players, or having to deal with a rarely called, yet still punishable, foul on Canada's goalkeeper? I don't want to start anything here, but to say that the ref was biased towards one side or the other is just silly.

well wambach did scream at the ref to make a call and got Tancredi upset. I agree that Tancredi should have controlled her emotions, but when the referee made calls like that you can't really blame her.

From what I've read the only thing Wambach did was count, albeit screaming, the number of seconds the goalkeeper held onto the ball. I've also read that the keeper was warned that she was holding on to long and to cut it out. I definitely would rather have had the game end on a less controversial note. Though I have complete faith that the game still would've ended with the same score. The US seems to always come from behind to win games in the most craziest of circumstances, that may sound biased, but, what can I say, I love my countries soccer teams.

I encourage you to watch the tape in which it clearly shows wombach screaming. Also the goalie was not warned. I dont know where you read the article but it definately didnt state the facts correctly.

Ok, I read those articles right after the game had ended and can no longer find them. So, maybe the goalkeeper wasn't warned and that could be attributed to the awful ref. But, I can't deny that Canada was playing an amazing game. But, they seemed to stop right after that call was made. Had they played as hard during extra time as the did during regulation time, then they very easily could be playing in the Gold Medal match instead of the US. As for Wambach's screaming, in a point in a match where every second matters, I would be screaming too if the opposing team's goalkeeper was wasting time. I'm sure every soccer player out there would say the same thing.

The rules clearly state a warning must be issued before a delay of game can be called and Canada did play just as hard, but were tired and then some of the players took their heads out of the game. Also the goalie clearly wasn't stalling and Wombach didn't have to yell in the manner that she did. She was demanding it and being rude.

That Men's BMX pile up.
THE PLAN WORKED BRILLIANTLY!

I thought the opening was really long, and weird. The events are great, however, i feel like they were a lot more exciting when I was younger. Swimming and Gymnastics. Excellent! Diving! Fun!

Wow, the Mexico Vs. Brazil Soccer match was intense. But Mexico finally got a gold medal. Man, I don't even remember the last time I jumped off the couch. : o

I jumped when U.S. women's soccer won gold, that was a good match. It's even better that they beat Japan cause they beat us in the World Cup.
