Luigis Mansion 2: Dark Moon

So obviously, one of the biggest 3DS games out right now is the new Luigis Mansion game. I personally got it yesterday from the eShop. So far, its pretty fun.

Does anyone else have it? Impressions, anything to report about it? Do you like the multiplayer?

I got the game within 2 days of the game coming out, and I love it. I've only just beaten the first mansion, mostly because I haven't had a lot of time to play it, and my brother has been playing it a lot as well. I'm still trying to get all the gems in the first mansion, and they're giving me quite a hard time. And unlike a certain other reboot of a Mario spin-off series (*couchstickerstarcough*) it's similar enough to the original Luigi's Mansion - which I happen to love as well, but it also adds just enough to make it stand out from the original.

The Multiplayer is probably my favorite part. It requires a lot of coordination to beat some of the harder levels, it's just the right amount of difficulty, it's simple enough to play with people that haven't played the game before, you don't need 4 copies of the game (thank god) and it's just an overall great experience.

As I said in my last post about this game, it's pretty amazing.

It's just a great game. Pure and simple. I'm basically addicted to it at this point as I'm just blown away from the amount of creativity in every single mission. The puzzles are unique and you feel like you accomplished something when you solve them and I like that there are legitimate challenges in the game. I haven't even had time to delve into the Multiplayer, but I'm sure I'll love it once I do.

I agree with you both, it is addicting. But I have a hard time finding time to play it, so I hope that I can make more time.I just need to find save points

Is it worth buying a 3ds just for this game? Because I don't think I want to buy one unless this game is good, because the first one was one of my top 2 favorite games.

It's great but it shouldn't be the only reason you buy a 3DS. There's a variety of other games that are just as good that have came out or are coming out.

Such as?

That have come out already:

Fire Emblem: Awakening
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
Etrian Odyssey 4
Virtue's Last Reward
Professor Layton
Paper Mario
Tales of the Abyss
New Super Mario Bros. 2
Kingdom Hearts 3D
Kid Icarus: Uprising
Resident Evil Revelations
Mario Kart 7
Super Mario 3D Land
Zelda OoT 3D

Coming out:

Pokemon X/Y
Animal Crossing
Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D
Mario & Luigi 3D

That's also not including the variety of eShop games and VC games. I'd say it's pretty hard not to find at least a couple games to be interested in just because of the sheer variety of games and each one functions a little differently. Even if you don't care that much for 3D (which for some I'll admit is not as good as others but is still good IMO), there's quite a few fantastic games for this system. It has really picked up steam since that horrific launch.

Probably not unless it was bundled, which it isn't. Like dmaster said, there are many that are close.

The most annoying thing is the whole not being able to save thing

I don't mind having no save points. The missions are pretty decent in length with my first runs of them being usually 20 minutes which I find perfect for bite-sized handheld gaming. That might just be me though.

Is there a point where you can start quicksaving?

Not that I've found so far and I'm pretty sure I'm about halfway through.

So at what point would you save? Keep in mind I have to keep restarting the first mission because of this pest called Nintendo :p

I got this the day after it came out. I have since then beat the game twice and am going through again.
The only complaint I have is that the game is kinda short and the puzzles are quite simple. But I love the online multiplayer, and have yet to beat 25 Floors on Expert difficulty.

I'm a little lost here but it automatically saves once you complete a mission.

Just found it. You really need to invest time and patience because E.Gadd is a bumbling freak

Okay so I hate people in Multiplayer. Joined three different Scarescrapers straight, and EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Had someone (each one different) who would wait around for a key to pop up, snag it, then sit there spamming voice commands. Please go toss your system in a fire, you little jerks.
