Alt. Format M Tyranitar EX / Crobat

@ProZlockie Funny that you mentioned Hard Charm. That was an annoying Tool my opponents (at the recent Nats) used; and it some instances, that Tool forced a 2HKO vs. my intended 1HKO... Lol. Props to my opponents for using it; note to self: perhaps run a Startling Megaphone in my decks...

Other techs you might want to consider other than Hard Charm: Bad energy, Enhanced Hammer (most decks run some type of Special energy), Head Ringer, and Pokémon Center Lady.

I'm always getting messed up by Enhanced Hammer, so I don't know why I didn't think to include it. The same goes for Head Ringer. I'm not sold on Bad/Dangerous Energy; yes it deals 2 damage counters to active Pokemon-EX, but my main concern is obviously the popular hammers. And if I'd only put in 1 or 2, I don't think it would be worth it in this deck, especially since it can't be recycled?

I agree that Shadow Circle isn't particularly helpful in this deck. Silent Lab would be a nice counter to Giratina, assuming you can play it down before it attacks. A better solution may just be a single Yveltal EX.

I'm on the fence as to whether or not Crobat is necessary. While Golbat supplies sufficient damage for KOs, having a late game Crobat seems very helpful in case all of your Golbats are in play/discarded. Maybe Absol ROS is the answer?

That's also a lot of items in a world where Vileplume and Seismitoad exist. I don't have a great solution, just throwing it out there :D

I suggest Exp. Share.

Why?

Because if you have exp. share attached to M-Tar, you can salvage one energy in the event M-Tar is KO'd, then you can mega turbo/yveltal to get the second, and if you got it via mega turbo, all you need to attach is 1 DCE, and then you can use Destroyer King again, but this time, w/ the second M-Tar...

My possible list idea for your deck will give you a rough idea in terms of what to replace, in my opinion:

Pokemon: 16
  • 3 Tyranitar EX
  • 3 M Tyranitar EX
  • 2 Yveltal(Great against Beautifly ROS)
  • 3 Golbat(2 damage counters is enough to KO anything in current format, including Wailord-EX. Watch out for Theta Stop, though!)
  • 3 Zubat
  • 2 Shaymin-EX(When Vileplumed, this pokemon contains your sole reliable non-supporter means of draw... )
Trainers/Supporters/Items: 34
  • 4 Professor Birch's Observations
  • 3 Professor Sycamore
  • 2 Lysandre
  • 2 AZ (Good switch alternative: If you AZ the active when it is statused, low on HP, etc. and you don't want it to be KO'd, use it to fully heal it, at the cost of all attachments: energy, tools, etc., that are not pokemon cards, whether evolutions or basics... )
  • 2 Hex Maniac(If you can't use Yveltal against Beautifly... )
  • 1 Xerosic (Great anti-tool card searchable by VS Seeker. Words well against opposing hard charms, attached Head Ringers, even special energy... )
  • 1 Professor’s Letter
  • 2 Team Magma Base (Theta Stop does not apply to stadium-based damage, and since all that's needed for Destroyer King to KO is 2 counters... )
  • 2 Silent Lab (Shuts down Giratina-EX's ability)
  • 4 Ultra Ball
  • 3 Tyranitar Spirit Link
  • 3 Exp. Share (Salvage one energy after KO. See text above list for point)
  • 3 VS Seeker
  • 2 Mega Turbo
Energy: 10
  • 4 DCE
  • 6 Darkness Energy

I'm still on the fence about both the Crobats and stadium cards for this list. I also forgot Bunnelby existed. I have lists for both made up, but it's they're both works in progress.

Thank you everybody for your input! It's extremely helpful to consider all of the possibilities!

can't you use 'team magma's hidden base' stadium card for the 2 damage?
Stadiums can be replaced... considering that most competitive players (I know at least) are running 3-4 Stadiums.

I'd suggest play-testing different deck combinations till ou find the one that you like most.
