Major Rules Update

Kehehe, that's pretty interesting.

I can just tell this is going to get out of hand. And I'm not sayiing this because I don't swear at all. Isn't that what NightBeach is for? I mean I guess minor swears are okay now and then (like the examples PMJ provided), but I don't know...I'm not trying to be buzzkill, I just hope everyone follows the rules properly. And when I say everyone, I mean PDC.

I found the word that censors to "apple juice"
Cinesra found that one a long time ago.

I wanna know what this is, hahaha.
Starts with an F.

Oh gosh. This all happened kind of quickly. I sure hope it doesn't get out of hand, although being Pokebeach and the people on Pokebeach, I'm sure we'll be fine.
So here's to PG-13 forums! *pops open bottle of sparking cider after shaking it up*
*chugs bottle of sparkling cider*

Please also note that that word, even if not directed at a person, is still unacceptable. Even in a PG-13 forum. :) (I'm pretty sure like 2 or more F-words in a movie denotes automatic R rating, although I could be wrong.) (It does. -DNA)

As long as you're not cussing at someone (=flaming), and the curse words aren't severe (as in, conversation you might hear on a college campus), we'll be fine with it.

Examples:

Damn, that's awesome news!
What the hell? What are they doing?
This card is crappy. It has low HP, its attack cost is too high for that damage output, and its retreat cost means it's stuck on the field.

Don't be stupid. It's that simple. The threshold for language is common sense.

The old rule of thumb was do not post anything you would be embarrassed if a parent saw.

No, it wasn't a parent. It was a grandmother.

Mine died when I was 5 and I don't know what shame is, so the analogy never helped for me.

I've seen very minor cursing go unnoticed for a while, so I figured something like this was coming into effect. Thanks for bringing some common sense to the forum, guys.

(and could this mean the return of YLYL...?)

Are you sure this is a good guideline? If college is anything like high school, it goes quite a bit above PG-13.

In my experience, people mature in college and cut it down to basically the examples I had earlier.

The worst cursing is in 6-8th grade honestly... And you aren't allowed to even say stuff.
There's no rule against language in college and yet there's still much less of it.

Yeah, but I was referencing the topics being discussed more than the curses (sex, drugs, etc.) Either way though, it's a petty detail that we probably don't need to be discussing.

Hooray? As someone who doesn't really curse unless you count 'flippin/g' as cursing, this is kind of a... strange rule change. But whatever I guess. I don't mind forums being loosened up, but the reason I've left a few is that it got out of hand. So I shall just hope that the members of Pokebeach don't abuse this. .

If it gets abused you can be sure this little privilege is going to vanish as quickly as it appeared, of this I'm positive.
